. So... in Sinapore they discourage urination in the elevators and failing to flush toilets. And in Japan, they discourage public swinging of umbrellas like golf clubs. I still think I prefer Japan (^.^) . ( コメントを見る » )

A key reason to prefer Japan - elsewhere in Asia it's necessary to legislate behavior such as where NOT to urinate, to ensure they flush a toilet, etc. Without this the city would be a pigsty. A "modern" city? Hardly. More advanced than other Asian cities outside Japan? Yes. And that is sad. ( コメントを見る » )

. To be so young and so lost. Sad. If you think only one person made it happen... again sadly misinformed. To be a student you have to be willing to learn. To be an artist be willing to care. You begin this new ear with anger. Really unfortunate. . ( コメントを見る » )

SoCal? I'd be surpised if kids follow directions. Use a bowl you are willing to lose. Report back what happened. ( コメントを見る » )

. If you answered yes - that you've never been a victim of a scam - keep in mind that a successful scam is not detected. So it's difficult to answer whether you have - only whether you know. . ( コメントを見る » )

I know a girl who has "friends" in the Yakuza. She sees counterfeiting as part of a "value stream" where the counterfeiters play a "necessary" part. I was a bit shocked to listen to her justify the practice. But, according to the survey here, the thinking is not so uncommon. ( コメントを見る » )

. This normally seems like such a nice group but, wow, this post has become a real "pity party". So many never got a love letter. THIS is the stereotypical Otaku. Otaku like to think they're unique - but tend to all be the same. For those who never received - how many have you sent? If none, why not? Fear of rejection? Maybe others feel the same about you? How do you behave? Are you approachable? Many Otaku are not. They radiate "keep away". Seriously, read some of these comments. A fe... ( コメントを見る » )

The late, great, actor Cary Grant once said - as a character in the movie "Operation Petticoat" - "When she's under 18 she's protected by law. Over 55 she's protected by nature. Anywhere in between (he winks) she's fair game." Now play nice! ( コメントを見る » )

. What's REALLY unique is that when you date Japanese girls they'll offer to pay half - meals, movies, DisneySea, etc. That threw me at first but now I think it's their way of keeping control. If they pay their half, they don't "owe" anyone anything - and staying the night is their choice, not debt. Offer to pay for dinner, when she says it's not fair, tell her that if she feels badly she can buy breakfast. When she laughs, have a great night. ( コメントを見る » )

To me, Japan is a land where appearance is not always reality. Sure, Japan seems safe - as long as you stay "between the lines". The cops are like information guides in booths. Danny had another article about girls in Akiba beating up cops. If you deviate from expected behavior it really rattles them. So they mostly give directions. But I don't see them handle rowdy drunk salarymen on a Friday night. In fact, I'm convinced they don't think well on their feet. They maintain a standard behavior pattern - and ... ( コメントを見る » )

"Can't win if you don't play." "If you don't ask, you don't get." "Never let fear of failure prevent you from trying." Sorry for the cliches but they're true. Share what you have to offer. Your partner will see it. Those that don't see it can still be friends. Can't have too many friends - but only one partner. A lot of "shy" comments. Shy is good (when it is modesty and not cowardice). "Bold" has its place - but certai... ( コメントを見る » )

Japan's Statistics Bureau states there are MORE women in Japan than men (age 15 or more). The percentage of those declining to marry "young" is increasing. We can't infer marriage has lost its allure - they are just choosing to take that option later. For one thing, careers are an option not available before. Where I work many women enjoy the career concept but hope to marry later and have a family. Could be a good thing. Maturity contributes to a better decision on an important matter. Better decision may result in a... ( コメントを見る » )

Interesting topic and story. Ah... the things we do when young! (^.-) From what I've seen, the trend is basically universal amongst "first-world" nations. Specifically in Tokyo I've found that below 28 girls prefer to focus on a fun time together - movies, restaurants, shopping, Disney, Onsen, etc. Over 28 they also enjoy a fun time - but increasingly are looking to "go to the next level" of the relationship. So... you can use that date to plan your dates accordingly. I'm new to Japan - and not Otaku (s... ( コメントを見る » )
