I highly recommend the anime if you've got a sense of humor that can appreciate absurdity, especially in the realms of social commentary. This is the anime equivalent of Johnathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels except it covers the life of a dysfunctional teacher with a class of dysfunctional students. ( View formatted comment » )
I'd put down Ghost Hound for being a really big disappointment. A good buildup that just never quite materialized. Same goes for Shion no Ou, which had decent writing and a good mystery until the last episode pulled some illogical rationalizations to end it.

Kinda makes you wonder what's the point of airing the series if the censoring is going to be that bad? The same thing happened with Kodomo no Jikan and makes me ponder that the ploy might only be to sell more DVDs. Oh well, it's not like I'm watching Capu2, but I can empathize with the irritation. I can't remember another male lead I hated more than Kouichi. Maybe Makoto from School Days. But yeah... a male lead who's the timid wuss suddenly obtains power and becomes a jerk. I'm not seeing any winning material here. ( View formatted comment » )

Wait... people actually liked the anime adaptation despite the last 5 episodes being a total trainwreck? I was under the impression that people preferred seeing Raki go off and train rather than being the whiny plot device that he turned out to be.
