BTW, check out this vid for those of you who haven't seen it before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6rmqMK5yo4 Hebe (a member of the girl group called "S.H.E" in Taiwan) slips during a live interview in Taiwan. That's pretty embarassing although Hebe actually looks really cute by falling. ( View formatted comment » )

I walked into a post before back in junior high school. It was a waist-high post (to prevent cars from entering the school grounds). Some guys were yelling somewhere, so I looked over my shoulder while I was walking and didn't see the post. My sister was laughing. One or two people might've saw, but I just quickly pretended nothing happened. :P ( View formatted comment » )

Oh, damn it. I was thinking about visiting Japan for the first time and going to Wonfes. I guess I'll have to delay it. But this is weird -- it's a faulty escalator and craps happens. All you need is to have staff funneling people through the escalator next time so the weight isn't too heavy. Sorta like what stores do during Boxing Day to prevent too many people being in the store at the same time. ( View formatted comment » )

My vote goes to traditional. If you break down your target audience, I would think it ranks like this (in terms of popularity): Taiwan, Hong Kong, and then China. Both Taiwan and Hong Kong uses traditional, so you'll satisfy most of your target audience. I would argue that most overseas Chinese (i.e., those born in Canada or the USA, like me) who learned Chinese would've learned the traditional system as well. Of course, we would prefer the English site, so we wouldn't be your target audience anyways. ( View formatted comment » )

This happened to me A LOT back in junior high school. Punks would purposely put their shoulder into you to show that they're tough. Nothing really comes out of it (i.e., no fights happen), but everyone starts bracing themselves whenever they walk because they know some punk would try to knock you back. I don't think it's just Thai singers... I think ALL Asian countries do that. :P There are lots of quality singers in HK, TW, etc., but they're independent artists, not mainstream. Unfortunately, good looks + bad singing = sales, but bad looks + good singing = no sales. ( View formatted comment » )

I never watched nor listened to Thai music before, but this one is pretty good! My impression of it is it's like a cross between K-pop and Cantopop. MV style is almost identical to most HK MVs. ( View formatted comment » )

Actually, I always go to McD. I like McD's fries the most, even compared to high-quality gourmet fries. ( View formatted comment » )

Yeah, I know what that's like. Even though I was eventually bigger than any kid in school, I had a reputation of being quiet. So smaller kids still wanted to bully me, until I finally dropped the gloves and rock n' rolled with one of the bullies. That sent a message and the bullying stopped. ( View formatted comment » )

Oh yeah, that brings back some memories. Some guy did a similar thing. But he wasn't targeting me specifically -- that punk was throwing cinnamon hearts candy at people during lunch. I chased him down because one of the candy landed in my lunch and got me pissed off, but he got away. I wouldn't consider it bullying... it was more like a little weasel using "hit & run" tactics to annoy people. haha ( View formatted comment » )

Yeah, I've been bullied when I was in elementary starting from grade 1. But the funny thing is I began to grow bigger and ended up being the biggest kid in elementary. I always ignored all verbal abuses, but one time in grade 7, some idiot bully decided to mess with me again and I finally snapped. It was a major one-sided fight because I was bigger. Some of my classmates had to hold me back to stop the fight. Luckily, I didn't get in trouble at all because I was a good student throughout, while the "bully" had a bad track re... Yeah, I saw this one before. Absolutely awesome. It seems like all Kanu Unchou figures look really nice (and more expensive too). I'd say she has one of the best hair of all figures. Griffon has a Kanu Unchou figure as well that I really like -- that one has her half-kneeling, posing as if she just finished an attack. I would say that one is on par with this one in terms of coolness. ( View formatted comment » )

I think most here forgot that downloading music, videos, games, applications, etc. are considered to be stealing if it's not from a legit source. This includes anime fan subs or gravure videos. ( View formatted comment » )

Yeah, it's a crazy reason, but unfortunately, that's what it's like for Hello! Project groups. Miki Fujimoto was kicked out of Morning Musume because she was caught with a boyfriend. She basically went from top dog to "no name" overnight. BTW, that picture is really old. :P ( View formatted comment » )

Working in Japan would be fun, but it's not because it's Japan -- it's because Tokyo is one of the top 3 finance cities in the world along with NY and London. For me, it'll be a dream to work in any one of those 3 cities. However, Tokyo would probably be a long shot for me since my half-ass Japanese would prevent me from being competitive. :P ( View formatted comment » )

I have plans to do a MBA, but not right now -- the cost for a MBA is really expensive. The MBA program from the University of British Columbia (the best local program where I live) costs $39,000 CAD or so, and it barely cracks the Top 100 in Financial Times' MBA rankings. I'm sure the Whartons, the GSBs, the Columbias, etc. of the world will cost even more. In my opinion, getting a US CPA and CFA is a much better deal right now. ( View formatted comment » )

Yeah, it's going to be in overkill mode for a while. It's to show everyone not to mess around. The cops want to put on a show to deter other people from even thinking of doing anything stupid. ( View formatted comment » )

Yes, unfortunately, I have 2 fake figures in my collection. I bought both when I was still quite new to collecting figures, so I didn't know what was real and what was fake. eBay is a good source for figures ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. There are many sellers on eBay that have BOTH real and fake figures for sale. For example, I know a seller on eBay who gets their inventory from AAA Anime and Diamond Comics (official distributors for the Japanese manufacturers), but the eBay seller also imports fake figures and sells them ... If you like cute songs/groups, check out a group called "C-ute" from Hello! Project, the company behind Morning Musume and Berryz Kobo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zddYh2e0nbw I'm a die hard Morning Musume fan, but C-ute's songs are much are catchy. ( View formatted comment » )

Oh, I've heard of Tabo before. There are several news stories about him on mainstream news publishers before (I think BBC did a story on him as well). He actually rented an entire apartment as a storage for his dolls. ^^; ( View formatted comment » )
