Being an engineer, lead is not only heavy but extremely toxic if ingested, especially in blocks ^^ (privately casting ingots of lead is bad enough...) I think I will visit Harajuku sometime, it looks like an interesting place. ( View formatted comment » )

I forgot to answer the question! They dress up Colonel Sanders in classic style around here. LOL @ the maid dress, I didn't notice that! ( View formatted comment » )

A lot of folk just have the darndest luck with things, and my thing with luck is I have been fortunate to receive good food service throughout my years. I won't eat KFC anymore due to their treatment of chickens, and it is the same with the fast food industry as a whole. I ain't a veggy- God I love meat. But the sloppy way of work kind of irritates me, and the food is LOADED with preservatives so I avoid it at all costs. I will eat Subway ^^. It is delicious. ( View formatted comment » )

Yes I will get jet lag, and I have to overcome that on my trip to Japan. Whatever you are eating with the french fries earlier in the post (not the frank!) looks really good. Enjoy Germany! It's a lot like Pennsylvania, but it's the real thing :). ( View formatted comment » )

I never really knew the fear of public speaking since I was "thrown into it" when I was very young. Ironically, I just finished a public speaking course here at the campus. The best advice I can offer you is to not sweat it, but that is easier said than done eh? ^^. Here is how I go about it. Organize your speech and know the material. That is the golden rule. If you organize it and fret about it too much then it will trip you up when you go to speak. If you know your material, which I think you do (you worked on the progr... ( View formatted comment » )

That's very interesting that the male portion of the Japanese population doesn't use deoderant. Personally I use Old Spice because it is the only stuff that really works. I have tried Axe, but it only covers up a guy's smell and second, I have never had it work where it protects against sweat. Old spice works, smells great, and I have been told by many folk of the female portion of the population in the USA that axe makes them gag. ( View formatted comment » )

I will totally RAID that store and buy so much Gunpla when I visit Japan it ain't even funny! Typically with the models I build, I will scratchbuild a new part if something breaks. Say I snap a antannae, I will first proclaim my dissatisfaction by yelling an explitive, then I may use brass rod to replace it. For more complicated parts, I am: a) screwed b) try to scatchbuild c) deal with it d) order new parts Tamiya and Revell are good about getting me what I need. ( View formatted comment » )

Nope, no Otaku stores anywhere in the area, and I have never been in one. I would probably spend some money on Gunpla and building supplies. The closest thing you get to an otaku store is the anime section of your local Suncoast movie store. My hobby store stocks a minimum amount of imports, around 2 or 3 models that are at outrageous prices. ( View formatted comment » )

We all dislike something, and unfortunatly some people don't know how to behave like normal people or when to be quiet. Since anime is part of the culture of Japan, I would say that people who are discrimnatory towards anime are being racist. I'm not saying people who dislike anime "are racist". Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and really they should keep it to themselves. I don't like Green Army Men or Barbies, and I have reserved opinions on the subjects, but you don't see me going around and blabbing us... ( View formatted comment » )

Ho..... if I did that not only is it shameful and completely destroys my honor, I would get fined heavy and thrown in the clinker for some hard time for spitting on a police officer. Honor driven and bound, I am thankful for everything the police and armed forces do for our country. The boys in blue here are the toughest and they don't take chances. They don't "ask" for anything when arresting- if you run you will be down on the ground and very uncomfortable. They are cracking down in Pennsylvania on street racing a... Money and Looks do not matter to me-it's all about finding someone I love. I plan on making good money anywhoo, but I won't let them know that until they know me well =). ( View formatted comment » )

I disagree with the ban. People will find ways to obtain illegal weaponry, but I am sure this would probably stop some of the samurai weaponry related killings. This would make me want to move out of that country if I were to live there- similar if the US did the same thing. ( View formatted comment » )

Yuuuuup I sure am- my first Otakon. I am going with a friend and his girlfriend, both of which I havn't seen for a year or so. I will be covering the event and reporting when I get back on my blog :) Yikes! some of those prices sound harsh. Even with me being over in Japan, I would still watch my money and spend wisely, 2700yen for that tiny thing? I could get a high quality 1/700 battleship for the same price that I would rather have, or manga, or anime, or mmmm.. figures/gunpla perhaps? ( View formatted comment » )

No I do not approve of skirts getting shorter. I had to deal with this problem in my high school of girls wearing "skimpy" clothing and it gives our school the reputation of a whore house rather than an institution for learning, and that is a fact with most high schools in the United States today. Girls can still remain sexy! The short skirts are too much of a distraction while studying.... Show off legs elsewhere please. Just a personal preference. ( View formatted comment » )

I attempt to not buy bootlegs from model kit manufacturers. In the Gunpla department I can say that bootlegs are CRAP and arn't even worth half the original cost of the original copy. Some of my kits (warships) are chinese made, and although I try to avoid buying from China some of their bootlegs actually arn't that bad. MiniHobby Model's 1/350 USS Missouri is coming out just fine, though I would prefer to buy from Tamiya. Like anime DVDs, I prefer the original thing. ( View formatted comment » )

ok accidents.... I can't really think of any accidents where I have seriously been hurt. I did break my leg when I was two by balancing myself on a kickball. I fell and landed on my leg with all of my weight, which crushed it a bit. It was a hairline fracture of my right thigh if I remember correctly, and boy did it hurt bad. I faintly remember that it wasn't painful prior to laying down and getting a cast. I have traveled down towards Harrisburg, PA and an 18 wheeler blew out a tire, and the shred landed under the SUV's ti... ( View formatted comment » )

Yes I have had a part time job at an amusement park. I don't feel bad for all the people complaining about $10.00USD being too little, I would JUMP at the chance to make $7.50 to $8.00 an hour! When I began working I earned $5.65 an hour and the next year it went up to around $6.35. I had plenty to spend on, but gas ate around 40% of my money. I do what I can and at the moment I live off of borrowed money from the parents as I earn my degree. It will be nice when I am out of college, starting salary for entry level engineers is 5,348,...
