Well the small pictures are configurable, but the whole idea of it is usability. While many people have large screen monitors, the majority of people around the world are still 1024x768. Thats why the standard lightbox picture may seem small to you. I actually use Thickbox as my image popup of choice. I'm a big fan of the work JQuery is doing. ( View formatted comment » )
