(No) x 10^100. Hollywood, please PLEASE crap in your own yard. The reason a lot of us watch cartoons is so we won't have to turn to you to entertain us. It's going to bomb, so just save yourselves the trouble and the monetary losses and just go back to making Scary Movie 8. The only box-office race this film is going to be a competitor for is trying to out-fail Speed Racer. Also, I believe this idea is flawed on several levels. ( View formatted comment » )

I think that's the biggest problem with the way voting is handled in democracies: too many people really think they're supposed to vote for who they think will win, rather than who they would like to win. ( View formatted comment » )

Before Harper it was Martin, wasn't it? Sorry, I can't remember his first name. Gordon Brown taking up as PM reverberated rather loudly throughout the world, but a lot of that probably had to do with how unpopular he had become. ( View formatted comment » )

If I saw a "Japanese only" sign here, I would have to assume they didn't do a whole lot of business. No, I know what you meant! ( View formatted comment » )

When I was in Japan, I only used the internet for a few minutes a day. I was actually really glad to have a break from it. Of course, I was in Tokyo and there was plenty of things to do and see, as opposed to where I usually am. ( View formatted comment » )

They look like teruteru-boozu. Are they black because the person who made them is hoping for rain? ( View formatted comment » )

I had a subscription to Newtype USA, and got it renewed a couple of months before they went under. They came back with a truly awful publication which took the current nihilist smart-ass tack of insulting one's own customers. You know the sort of thing I'm talking about; if someone writes in politely pointing out a significant error, they'll publish it with a condescending caviat telling the reader to get a life. Thankfully, this rag went under after 5 issues, but the publishers then had the bathos to blame the public for not... ( View formatted comment » )

I hate so much stuff, but I really can't stand anything which has been burned, blackened, or just plain overcooked. ( View formatted comment » )

Agreed. A regular bear suit only makes it more hilarious, in my opinion. ( View formatted comment » )

16GB now? Then next year comes 32GB, then 64GB... We all know they have the resources and technology to put way more memory on it right now. Can't they just give their customers the full terabyte already and be done with it? ( View formatted comment » )

When I was four, I called the police and told them that I was a bird and my life was in danger because I was being chased by a cat. I think the only other time was when I was working at a convenience store and my co-worker was having a diabetic episode. ( View formatted comment » )

Usually I try to avoid stirring things up, but this is really beyond disappointing. Those of you who are trivializing this, I hope you'll live long enough to see how stupid you've been today. If the genders here were reversed you'd all be shrieking for his blood until the blood drained from your tongues. ( View formatted comment » )

In 2004, I spent two months' salary on something. It was a third-hand Ford Contour. Now who's going to be the one with happy memories of his purchase: the fellow in the article or me? Two guesses and here's a hint: it's not me. ( View formatted comment » )

<i>"Every scientist knows this, but it doesn't pay to say so."</i> Why can't they ever come right out and say that their beliefs require a setting in which Greenpeace and The Sierra Club are richer and better-connected than oil companies and media conglomerates? Enough with the sci-fi drama and cryptic "them"s and "they"s. Say it loud and proud: "I'm here! I'm off my friggin' rocker! Get used to it!" ( View formatted comment » )
