I enjoyed episode 8 though I will agree the animation wasn't as vivid and sharp as previous episodes. However, it did have a number of amusing flourishes; Nanase exhibited a bit of Gainax bounce at times. As for the content, I didn't see this necessarily as filler; this episode continues to set Sheryl up as more than Ranka's idol. Sheryl is slowing invading every aspect of her life -- her new school, her potential crush, her career. The seeds of a good grudge are being sown; will they sprout and if so, how? In as chronological order as I can remember: 1. Atari 2600 (the Sears version) 2. Odyssey^2 (not pictured) 3. NES 4. Gameboy (original brick version) 5. SNES 6. Sega Genesis 7. Sega Game Gear 8. PS1 9. Gameboy Advanced (original version requiring the light of a thousand suns to see the screen) 10. PS2 (US) 11. PS2 (Japan) 12. DS Lite (white) Still have access to all of these except the Odyssey^2 and Atari 2600. ( View formatted comment » )

IIRC, they only managed to get eight episodes into the can before the writers strike. Unless they managed to make a fairly contained eight episode arc, I think we are all going to be miffed in five more weeks. As for the strike itself, the Wikipedia page has a great overview: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007%E2%80%932008_Writers_Guild_of_America_strike To briefly summarize, the current contract between the ... I have two main nits with the site. First, the site has become heavy with features, but navigating among them and figuring out what they are is becoming difficult. You might know what you want to do, but the links/tools to do it are not readily visible. For example, go into the Links/Otakurl section. You want to add a link; how do you do that? Well, you scroll down and look on the right. Once you get passed the DC Network block, a block for your profile, the puchi blurb form, and an advertising block, you finally see a block that conta... Having seen this on a few sites now, I have to call shenanigans on this. Makes for good TV but seems too staged to be an actual "on the street" style. Has anyone seen other reports, photos, etc. of someone else wearing something like this? ( View formatted comment » )

I'm having some trouble with the Amazon/product recommendation. First, I can only seem to get 7 ASIN numbers into the form field; the help blurb states I should be able to fit 20. When I add even just one item to the ASIN list, nothing shows up on my profile page. I've triple checked my Amazon Associate tag and locale; I've also turned off all ad blocking, etc. when visiting my profile page. Nothing ever shows up under my product recommendations. And one last minor item; when you have no puchi blurbs, the profile page sa... ( View formatted comment » )

For now, I am using the full Nav2.0 layout. It is a decent enough balance between the elements; however, I can understand why some comment that it is "bloated" or "crowded". Where you are moving more towards a community portal, the real estate given over to Otakurls/Otavids seems appropriate. One thing I hope comes with the future community portal plans are more RSS feeds. Personally, I read the site via the RSS feed; if an article is too long, has more content than in the feed, or has me wanting to comment, then I cli... ( View formatted comment » )
