Congrats on the Mac Fan article! Though you've certainly haven't hid you Mac addiction and the fact that you run your business almost entirely via Macs, how common are Macs in Japan? Has the whole iPod/iPhone halo thing brought much attention to Macs there as it has done in the U.S.? ( View formatted comment » )
Just got a G10 a short time back to replace my older G3. An excellent camera with a wonderful wide 28mm lens. Takes amazingly good pictures in decent lighting. ( View formatted comment » )
I say we just kill each other for them...seriously. Oh, well, make it as random as possible. Some readers probably suck at games (like me for example), so Coco's suggestion of something different each month might make it easier for everybody to have a chance. ( View formatted comment » )
Long ago gave up worrying about what others thought of me. My figures are proudly displayed and to heck with what anybody else thinks. Life's too short. ( View formatted comment » )
Lots of hard drives, especially now with Apple's Time Machine making it so easy. I currently have just under 3TB of drives backing up the 4 active computers in the house. I've also used SuperDuper! with a great deal success for automated backups. Even all this is no guarantee I won't lose something eventually. ( View formatted comment » )
Thanks for figure portal, Danny. Although I'm fascinated by Japan, what really brought me to your site were the figures posts and information. Growing out of my model building past, resin and PVC figures have really peaked my interest in the last few months and It's great having a site as nice as yours to keep me informed. Domo arigato.

After twenty years with various systems, I made the switch to Mac in 2001. With a total of five around the house now (the original iMac G3 is still running), I'm contented with my decision. I won't suggest they're the right computers for every user, but they work for me. Once I got over it being about the computer and realized it's more about what I did with them, I became a backup nut. I currently have over 2Tb of backup drives running mostly from Time Machine (SuperDuper! is great too and the iTunes library is setup as a m... ( View formatted comment » )
More of a coffee nut, but the wife and I (wife especially) enjoy a good green tea. We've picked up the odd Twinings blend in the Supermarket, but mainly purchase from a small company here in the States that imports some fine Chinese and Indian teas. I'm afraid I never acquired the taste for either milk or sugar in my tea. ( View formatted comment » )
OMG! OMG! Be happy with just the Yuki Figma; don't buy the rest. Be happy with just the Yuki Figma; don't buy the rest...this is so not working! ( View formatted comment » )
Danny, considering the "suggestiveness" of your figure collection, I've simply got to ask what prevents your wife from kicking your derriere nine ways to Sunday? Your site has led to my purchase (against my will, of course) of several "attractive" figures and my wife hasn't spoken to me for a month. Do tell; share your secret! ( View formatted comment » )
A bit pricier and definitely not as portable, the Lowel EGO system (www.lowelego.com) is an excellent lighting/backdrop system for figures and other small objects. I picked up a complete kit with two lights, two reflectors and sweep (backdrop) for US$205 shipping inclusive. I've not tried it with my figures yet (though it would easily handle the 1/4 scale bunny girls), but it's done wonders for juried wood turnings. ( View formatted comment » )
I'd hope that as grown men watching cartoons and collecting plastic dolls, we'd be open to other people having their own interests; whether they excite or repulse us is irrelevant (and I'll admit I've been craving a go at a vac-bed for quite some time). As long as these are done safely, between consenting adults ("safe, sane, and consensual" is the phrase in the BDSM world) they harm nobody. And frankly, the fetishes shown here barely rank as school aged pranks in the world of fetishes.
The more disturbing... ( View formatted comment » )
"I Am Legend" is an excellent 1954 work by Richard Matheson. It's been made into films at least twice before, once starring Vincent Price and later with Charleston Heston (Omega Man). My hope is this will be an intelligent treatment of the story and not just an excuse for a special effect laden gore fest. ( View formatted comment » )
Currently it's an aluminum iMac, a Mac mini (displaced from TV duty by an AppleTV), an indigo iMac G3, a 12" iBook, my wife's Macbook and an old Athlon PC running M.A.M.E.
Though I love my big screened iMac, if I could have only one computer, I'd have to go with a laptop. Just too darned convenient. ( View formatted comment » )
