after reading through others comments I have to agree with the general consensus. Forums are a lot of work to maintain and the source for a lot of drama. Blogs and forums are really quite similar, just different layouts. Perhaps just taking some of the common forum features and integrating them into comments is the way to go. Quoting, editing your own comments, etc. ( View formatted comment » )

I really miss not having as much Gundam here as you used to have. Maybe you could just dupe the code for Figure.fm into a new site? ( View formatted comment » )

Great stuff Danny! Here's a few more tips regarding HTML tweaking: H1 tags are great way to start a page, but structuring sub headings with H2,H3,H4 etc also make Google love your site more. In the metadata you should be using a unique title for every page! Description and keywords play a big role too. Your metadata keywords should correspond to the content of your page. Don't use too many keywords either. From what I understand google checks to see if your metadata-keywords actually are found in the text of your page to deci... ( View formatted comment » )

ohhh! One of the biggest things I miss about Japan is the barbers. I didn't experience the "cloth on the face while washing your hair" phenomenon, probably because I lived in the country-side and folks are less formal there. The whole experience is much different from what I can get in the US. After cutting my hair, my barber always shaved me with an old fashioned straight razor, which was really scary the first time, but really nice for getting a very smooth shave. They put a nice hot towel on your face and you sit back for ... ( View formatted comment » )

One thing I read about Japan is that forestry service has a policy of replanting all the decimated forests with cedar trees. There are lots of places you can go in the country-side where you see forests of cedars planted in neat rows. Cedar of course has lots of pollen, so all the poor chaps who get hayfever get it extra bad. ( View formatted comment » )
