I achieved "relatively cheap" by luck of finding raw material, to make my own. The construction is documented on my site. Figmas are light enough for even flimsy, thin plastic (like my prototype). ( View formatted comment » )

Surprised that you don a watch; I've noticed nowadays most people (including myself) since Y2K rely on a mobile phone or other gadget. Good job on phone lanyard :> I had to get one for mine considering my previous one died upon dropping (granted it of old design). ( View formatted comment » )

Agree with your thoughts on glass. Plastic may be cheaper but can hold a static charge, so then you could end up dusting that :| The LEDs I have tested for spotlighting, do not have good color temperature so I'll revisit this problem... ( View formatted comment » )

You can do like me and place a dummy .exe in place of GoogleUpdate.exe, though i'm not sure if that breaks anything. ( View formatted comment » )

A friend of mine helped me look at this description, and I concluded it was overly smoothened in interpretation, so therefore possibly inaccurate: http://eng.goodsmile.info/detail/eng/259/Nendoroid+Shana%2C+Burning+Hair+and+Eyes+Ver..html Like regular nendoroids, red-haired & red eyes Shana comes with 3 faces, and the green caption on the image points toward the separate, limited, black-haired S... If accuracy in the translation was an ideal, that description read fine to me. The wordiness alone prompted this assumption in lieu of my inability to verify it to be true. It can be shorter if concise corporate language were wanted (specs section already mentions scale), but I'm of the opinion that the consumer leisurely reads. ( View formatted comment » )

I don't mind the thematic similarity. Functionally, the interface reminds of a file manager, which I've noticed more and more in your site's evolution. It's been established in visual display and navigation. My thoughts are, "the apple does not fall far from the tree," and "you do not patent the obvious" :> jQuery looks promising, if you do add in preloading, like others have said. I imagine you haven't looked into using Highslide JS because of its licensing. I've seen a few sites pic... ( View formatted comment » )

As for bags, I've yet to get one for my camera, but otherwise purposely carry things on my person only recently, in the long-term sense. My philosophy of carrying gear also leans towards "everyday carry." Unless you have a hobby or occupation that requires a bag, it's easier to make do with less items that require one. It's something you can do to counteract the technological overload of the times. ( View formatted comment » )

Excellent coverage, Danny. (I'm unsure of what I'm talking about:) Are those lens flares, or reflections of lights off glass in front of the figures? http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/lens-flare.htm Using a lens hood would make your telezoom stick out even more ^^; In the case they are reflections, I wouldn't know if a polarizing filter helps. The difference is interpretation of body language. The people saying it's porn and not art disagree about the intent and arousal factor, but even that's subjective. ( View formatted comment » )
