more than likely the anime would not be as popular as the genaeral fanbase is interested in the appeal of the characters... the slightly hyper personality of the characters would have clashed with their looks... also much of the humor and well cuteness would have been lost from the series... and lets not forget the fanbase is very effected by "pretty things" notice how in anime characters have big eyes, small noses etc. definately a sign of artistic preference ( View formatted comment » )
