KISS, in all their 70's glam-rock glory, are awesome. I've seen then a few times and they are one of the few bands that are totally worth the price of admission. They will put on one heck of a show and they love the audience. Definitely see them if you get a chance ... they're getting old:) ha ha I do think DMC is awesome. I go by a few nicknames that my close friends call me. I use my given name at work and in formal situations but I see nothing wrong with nicknames as long as the person in question is call with what they are being called. ( View formatted comment » )

I started a Forum just because I couldn't find a place to discuss something that I was really passionate about (Shinkai anime). I started the forum and I now have a bunch of people that I have to share things with ... and have even met other Forum owners in China and Japan. Very cool and very glad that I did it. I've been working on starting an Otaku group where I live ... The Baltimore Society for the study of Modern Visual Culture :) I've got about 30 people in the group though only 5-10 show up at gatherings. We meet once a month and either watch anime or have some kind of social event. It's a little tough since this is a club for people out of college (18+) so people are busy with their lives, but it is fun. ( View formatted comment » )

I was in Italy this week and I went into a post office to get a stamp and I couldn't get out of the office :) It took me about 5 minutes to figure out that I needed to push the door rather than pull the door to get out. I saw the last episode raw so I'm sure I'm missing a whole heck of a lot but I liked it. I guess the ending leaves things open for a movie (as I've heard some people mention) ... I can't wait for the Dub to really know what's going on. I was a little worried since they had so much to resolve and really didn't get around to that until this last episode ... it seems like things are not as resolved as I liked ... but we'll see what comes next. I grew up in Chicago and took the Bus and the "L" to high school almost every day for 4 years. My friends and I used to have a saying "All's fair in love and war and finding a seat on the bus" :) If there was an elderly person or a woman or someone that looked like they couldn't handle standing the entire time I would offer my seat. In today's world where manners are becoming more and more rare it is fun to exercise them once in a while .. sometimes you get some strange looks from people who aren't used t...
