For all its benefits the new uniform design is extremely flawed, and in such emberassingly obvious ways to boot.
1) Mandarin collars trap too much heat, and Singapore has a high temp. and high humidity climate.
2) Pixel pattern is certainly innovational but the colour makes it completely worthless in urban combat, which makes no sense since most modern warfare takes place in urban or built up areas.
3) Velcro is noisy, even the expensive, low-noise variant.
