Heh, he's got some pretty good stuff. I've recently become a fan of Cute with Chris as well, and of course the legendary Ze Frank. All that has caused me to start making my own video news shorts on Japan while I'm here. This one deals with robots, the Keta Shrine, and my own take on the dolphin hunt. All in the most ridiculous way possible. Skip to the dolphin bit. http://youtube.com/watch?v=_JQ61KTB1u0 ( View formatted comment » )

Just my luck. After I learn these secrets myself (the hard/expensive way), they show up online... Oh well, back to Akiba for more of those sweet sweet ¥100 Pinky dolls. ( View formatted comment » )

So here's the deal. I'm guessing it runs a real version of OS X, given that recent reports say that the "OS" takes up 700MB of the storage. Not that it matters, as Apple isn't opening up a REAL SDK yet. I probably won't buy one until someone's found a way to hack real apps onto it yet. At the moment, I'm running a Softbank X01HT (HTC Hermes) flashed with the WM6 "Black" rom. Working well, and let's me install real apps. Damn Apple though, for making something so pretty, and syncable... ( View formatted comment » )

I feel your pain Danny. I've been shooting in Akihabara before, and it seems that nobody wants a camera pointed anywhere near them. Even the impromptu interview we did with some maids promoting cream puffs on the street required a call back to the shop for authorization... This, in stark contrast to the Tokyo Game Show, where any time I put my Sony DCX1000 up to my face, I was literally SHOVED to the front of the crowd for better angles... ( View formatted comment » )

Hot DAMN! Nice to see some new information popping up on the blogosphere regarding this game. Frankly, it's been a little under reported in the otaku community. Nice to see you've got some good photos too. I recently went in to an arcade and shot a short documentary about the basic gameplay, and am currently editing it for my site tiltyhouse.com Perhaps we'll have to collaborate on this if we can get together at your next meetup.
