Mmmm… Are you sure about that? I do not think you can use anything that is not on your Alien Registration Card (i.e romaji or katakana if you have a western name). ( View formatted comment » )

There is one Tamron going from 18-250 mm which is purportedly decent. I do not know what mounts for, though (I do know they have it for Pentax at least). ( View formatted comment » )

ThunderCats' is best opening evarrr (the show, then, a bit lame, though). Revisiting its cut and layout style, though, makes me wonder if they were not heavily inspired by anime. ( View formatted comment » )

Über-article. I bet they take a considerable work, but entries like this one or the one about yukata are the way to go, if you ask me. お疲れ ( View formatted comment » )

Yukata is the winner, by far. Miko's are very elegant, but not one bit sexy. And maids give me the creeps, I must confess. Regarding Yukata's, two things though: 1. Regarding guys' Yukatas, I am quite envious of Japanese, actually: with a rather hairy chest, there is no way I would look cool on that garment. 2. Women's Yukatas are for some reason just fit for for Japanese chicks: it can make the dullest Japanese girl a true princess, while even the hottest western girl just looks out of the place with them (well, I&... I wouldn't, in my right mind (which is to say something too much, maybe) queue for plain donuts in Spain. I did so here, just for the sake of getting rid of my personality and blending with the mass. I did it with a Japanese friend, so the chat was nice, it was "only" 30 min (a Sunday, so I guess you can cut it down even more), and we got a free yummy glass sugar-type donut by the middle of the queue. So I guess it was actually 15 min for a free donut, and another 15 for more non-free ones. Nice experience, since the compa... ( View formatted comment » )

Well, not only that, but visitors in the screenshot you added see no content whatsoever but 500 headlines until they start scrolling. As a blog, I guess the most interesting thing is always the new post's content. The rest of the things… not really interested. Anyway... ( View formatted comment » )

My I just point out, that this festival happens in a town (Kawasaki), in the province next to Tokyo, and it being such a local thing, barely anybody in the big city now about its existence at all? Just to put things a bit in context. Of course, foreigners do like making Japan a weirder country than it really is so, the festival being such a weirdness, it is an obligated visit according to the guidebooks, which causes hordes of foreigners to go there too (like myself), besides anyone else but the locals from Kawasaki. Those understandin... ( View formatted comment » )

While Akihabara might have its attractiveness if you want the latest newly released otaku or geek stuff, for a more average fan of anime and manga I think Nakano Broadway beats Akihabara hands down: cheaper and concentrated. Akihabara can prove to be rather disappointing if you do not know where the key interesting places are located. ( View formatted comment » )

Having them installing timers seems a bit farfetched to me. Now, that they now the approximate time certain components will burn out, rust, wear off, etc. no doubt about it. Even when they are not ripping you off, putting those things to the test is part of quality assurance. So I do believe, not Sony, but all the other brands out are very picky on what components they put into the gadgets, in relation to how long they would like them to last. My first Toshiba CD Player was bough 20 years ago and still works like a champ. Not good busi... ( View formatted comment » )

I agree. But it's not like adding some foreign custom hack, it's just making your RSS more universal. Those already using (me) will benefit. Those not wil care as much as they do now. ( View formatted comment » )

Hey Danny. How about enhancing your RSS feed with the Media RSS extension, so that it is compatible with Piclens (see < http://www.piclens.com>, or < http://www.piclens.com/lite/webmasterguide.php> for web developers). No web mastery witchcraft you might have could beat its beauty and functionality (and, as of now, looking at large pics here sort-of... ( View formatted comment » )

Tekkon Kinkreet is a great, IMHO, although I have friends which could not stand it. The style is gorgeous IMHO, rather refreshing in that it's anime looks with a twist. Expect, though, the "Studio 4ºC" factor in it. The story, albeit charming, is weird and pretends to be. So you are not getting an explicite "and it ends like this". Be prepared to have to put your dose of interpretation in it. ( View formatted comment » )

I have a W51CA, which I guess is not that different. Sorry to be an ass, Danny, but you get to check dannychoo.com on it? Last time I tried your site was too much for both lame-o-browsers this junk has. I hate it (laaaaaaag), but I guess I would hate pretty much any other phone. ( View formatted comment » )

Aaah! Couldn't find or recognize you in front of the press box at 10. What a pity. If you read this before WonFes is over, and are not terribly busy, it would be nice getting to meet you. My email btw is my username here, at gmail or AU's standard keitai domain. ( View formatted comment » )
