I wanted to go visit Japan for the first time this year, and I also wanted to try and find a job (I'm a Microsoft Technologies Specialist) so I could stay for a couple of years and learn more about the culture (that's always been my dream). I had sent many resumes using job related websites, but most of the time the answer would be "We'd love to have you, but we are currently looking for someone who's already located here in Japan. Please tell us if you ever come to the country!" T_T Then I tried to get a Holiday ... ( View formatted comment » )

I think that Firebug is actually better than the Developer Toolbar that Danny recommends, it's a great tool! I'll check out the Firegestures, thanks for the tip! ^^ ( View formatted comment » )

Oh, I just remembered, Street Fighter Zero 3 for the PSX also allowed you to have 2 Vs 1 fights, but I think that one of the players had to be controlled by the console... it was a lot of fun anyways! ( View formatted comment » )

Just in case, the only fighting game that I've played where you can have multiple players in battle at the same time is Street Fighter EX3 for the PS2 (you need a multitap to connect the four controllers). You can play a 3 Vs 1 battle, but it's almost impossible to win when you're facing 3 guys surrounding you and smashing buttons like crazy! ^^; ( View formatted comment » )

Yeah, that's true, but I won't drink milk either, and they don't hurt the cows when they milk them (at least not that I know @-@)... It's just about not eating anything that comes from an animal, or that's been "processed" by animals! ^^ ( View formatted comment » )

I'm a Vegan, I don't eat any animal products or by-products... I don't even use honey! Guess I'll have a hard time finding food when I go to Japan later this year! ^^; ( View formatted comment » )

Nice pics Shin-Kenji, I only wished that you could have taken more of them so we could find out what causes this problem... Something that can cause it is a long user name, but since you were not logged in, I can only think of the other "dynamic" content on that DIV, and that's the featured feeds section... but if that was the real cause, everyone would have the same problem at the same time, and it would be really easy to reproduce, but it isn't º~º This is getting more and more complicated... ok, now I'm just feeling stupid! ^^´ Sorry about that... I guess that the "lesser than" or however it's called symbol gets recognized as xml or something and then gets everything after it removed :( So, making it shorter: These guys must have a very long user name or something similar that's making the DIV's width to go mad and pushing it down. Since I can't post the javascript to test it, just find the DIV right below your avatar and change your name to something really long without spaces and ... ( View formatted comment » )

Ok, this is going to be a huge comment, but now I really earned my cookie Danny!!! ^^ Being a web developer I thought that the problem was caused by a long text inside the right column's DIV, probably the user's name, so I made a few tests and managed to reproduce the error: First off, my user name is Darsel, which is quite a short word, so using Nikhil's Web Development Helper (a pretty nice tool for Web Developers, right besides the IE Developer Toolbar) I created a simple javascript that changed my user name in the DOM (... lol, come on Danny! That was one mean computer joke you pulled right there... just give the poor guy an oreo! ^^ Actually, since I have IE7 on XP and the right section also looks just fine, I think we both deserve a cookie, pretty please? ^o^ ( View formatted comment » )

Hey... isn't that the same "crazy dancing girl" that appears in the YouTube video that Danny posted in " http://www.dannychoo.com/blog_entry/eng/1252/Tokyo+Street+Performance/"? If it is her, maybe she was just dancing around (I think she's sort of kicking the concrete thing behind the old man, and not the old man himself), and the poor guy was just freaked out by her "art"? Ido, Danny only posted an example of the query he is using to get a post from one year ago, selected out of his database. That query is the one that gets executed on the server when you load the page, you don't need to execute it yourself, so don't worry! ^^ There is not a real table specified on the query because it's just an example, and it wouldn't be a good practice to go around giving people the name of your DB tables (security issues mainly). Well, not exactly what I expected :P But at least it seems clear that the 萌 kanji is used for the "Moe" slang only because of it's reading, and is in no way related to the kanji's real meaning. ( View formatted comment » )

Good Question! the kanji means "sprout, bud, malt, show symptoms of", but it's pronounced "Moe"... so I guess that's what it *means* on the picture :) Can anyone with good japanese knowledge elaborate further on the subject please? :D ( View formatted comment » )
