JR has some fairly plain warning posters up for those with swine flu symptoms. Without the usual illustrations to make their point they have gone straight for the text. Basically they are asking people to wear masks, wash their hands and throw away used tissues. However, most toilets at train stations seem less and less to be stocking soap and some bathrooms don't have any paper towels. Rubbish bins have also been on the decline on platforms. Makes it hard to get rid of tissues and keep your hands clean. Would be nice to see a bit of action making the toilet areas cleaner as well as the warning sign. I am on the train headed for Shinjuku now and I can count about 20 masks around me. The last point on the sign says "if you cough or sneeze remember your cough etiquette." The sentence is cut as it's drops on to the next line and I read it as せきエチ, which was close enough to せ きエッチ Seki etchi, for me to see it as cough sex. Would you wear a mask on the Yamanote Line? What about your seki etchi? Are you up to scratch with what's required?
