Just got off Shinkansen and had to make a dash for the local train. The ticket said 5 mins for the change but it seemed more like 50 seconds. Local train is moving through some beautiful snow country now on the way to Yokote. Whenever I see photos of trains traveling through the countryside I always imagine a quick snapshot. However, I didn't even gave chance to get the camera out of it's back nevermind fire off some shots. I guess a good shot means hanging around for a few hours as the next train would have been a one hour wait. Here is a quick peak from the train window with the iPhone. On this trip I have packed the Nikon D700 with tripod and 85mm plus 50mm lenses. I also have Lumix GF1 and iPhone at the ready. Hopefully will see some food photos tonight and tomorrow of the kamakura snow huts.
