The countdown to New Year in Japan has begun! Gone are are the Christmas trees - they've been replaced by a huge range of New Year decorations. At our local plant shop you can see pre-made decorations to hang on your door, pine branches (lying down, you'd stand one of these each side of your front gate or door ), and bottom right some miniature 'kadomatsu' made out of bamboo and pine, which if another live blogger doesn't post about this week I'll tell you about in a few days!
Does anywhere else have traditional New Year decorations, or is it just Japan?
