There's been at least three earthquakes here in Tokyo in the last few hours, the largest had a magnitude of about 4.1 on the Japanese scale, centred not far to the west of the city.
Living in an old house, even a small earthquake is enough to scare the pants off me - the glass shutters and wooden frame make a hell of a lot of noise, leaving me wondering if it'll fall down (which is unlikely, as the wood's natural flexibility helps absorb the shock).
I wonder if the long-overdue Big Kanto Quake will strike in the next ten years (while I'm still in Japan)? I wonder how much of a disaster it will be?
I've only ever felt two earthquakes in the UK, and they were pretty mild.
How about where you live? I heard some people like to be woken by earthquakes - are you one of them?
