Having some Monjayaki for dindins. Tastes lovely but you leave
smelling heavily of cooked food. Misao has become one of my fave
Figma's of late. Love her cheeks.
Wikipedia says en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monjayaki

Monjayaki is a type of Japanese pan-fried batter with various
ingredients. It is similar to okonomiyaki but monjayaki, a specialty
of the Kantō region, is made with a dough more liquid than is
okonomiyaki. The ingredients are finely chopped and mixed into the
batter before frying. The mixture is far runnier than okonomiyaki, and
it has a consistency comparable to a pool of melted cheese when
cooked. It is then eaten directly off the grill using a small metal
spatula. Many great monjayaki restaurants can be found in the
Tsukishima district of Tokyo. Most also serve regular okonomiyaki.

近くの店でもんじゃ焼き。おいしんだけど、食べ終わったら服臭い!
フィグマみさおが一緒。超かわいい。

Japanese foods always looks tempting to me.
Unfortunately i'm only limited to seafood when I was in Tokyo as the beef/checkin foods are very least likely Halal/Kosher :(

Ugh, that's pretty messed up. Halal slaughter is horrific and immesurably cruel and sadistic. It should be banned in any civilised country.

Perhaps fitting then that someone who believes in it misses out on the tasty meaty treats of Japan. I have no sympathy for you. And there is no god. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you know, the truth is always better than a fantasy.

Interesting since I never realized the two laws had so much in common. A couple of Jewish friend often pass on some foods that are not kosher.

Sounds interesting, never heard of it before. Shall check out if the Japanese restaurants here in Singapore actually serve it.

Monjayaki and okonomiyaki is quite good and I love being able to cook it!
The secret to monjayaki is making a hole in the middle of the more solid ingredients to coook the runny mixture =)
    yummy!

I had this in Tsukushima during the middle of the summer after Hanabi. There hostesses and cooks were very loud and exiciting, screaming at each other across the restaurant. It was great but the heat from the grill almost killed us. Most of the restaurants are kind of open air and can't make use of AC during the summer. But, because of that I bet it's great during the winter. You should have posted a picture after they poured the batter on it. Looks totally different beforehand.
