The finest in cuisine from Tokyo - a couple of onigiri with some puchi
kyoka on the side.
Today the Omusubi shop had this blob thing on the counter. No markings
on it and was trying to work out if it was something from Final
Fantasy or PuyoPuyo.

Maybe it's slime from Dragon Quest?

Looks delicious, also that blob looks very slime like, like from one of those old RPG's.

It does not look like a typical Dragon Quest slime, not sure how they look on any of the handheld systems though.

If only I got a chance to put my teeth on those things. There's so much from the Japanese cuisine that I want to try out. :\

Maybe it's just a cute blob? Never underestimate the power of googly eyes.
Someone brought a bunch of googly eye stickers into our building a few weeks ago and stuck them on everything -- the locks on the bathroom stalls, the nozzle on the water fountain, the handles on doors-- it was like everything was suddenly looking at you with a cute face. It was awesome.

A friend of mine showed me a picture of a machine in an arcade in Tokyo full of those blobs in different colors. (It may have been a crane/claw/ufo game, where you could win the blobs.) I do believe it was related to Puyo Puyo. I'll ask her about them if i get a chance to talk to her.
