The past couple of weeks have seen the temperature in Tokyo drop quite a bit, and the leaves starting to turn.
Whilst Japan's cherry blossom season is famous around the world, autumn is also pretty spectacular. With a lot of Japan's landmass being covered by trees, it's hardly surprising.
Whilst Tokyo may have an image of being one big lump of concrete, there are actually a lot of parks around the place where you can get back in touch with the seasons.
My no.1 reccomendation is Shinjuku Gyouen, just a few minutes walk from the station. The red maple leaves there are stunning, and the park tends to be quieter than most (costs about 400yen to enter).
Yoyogi park trees put on a nice display too - they should be ablaze within a couple of weeks.
I'm in Roppongi at the moment - there's a small park behind the Ritz Carlton where this photo was taken.
I guess for some readers out there Spring is on the way. Any reccommendations for other places to be stunned by nature?
