Shopping in Japan

starts at 1000am. A queue forms just before 10. If there's a huge sale going on, it's not unusual to expect one as early as 8! There's something about shopping early in Japan. Besides being amongst the first few to get you paws on whatever you want, you get greeted with "ohayou gozaimasu" and a bow as you briskly walk past. Took this photo outside a local departmental store on my way to work.
