Saw this very sad sight outside the Denkigai Exit to Akihabara Station today.
Megane Super, an eyewear shop that has been here for years is closing up shop. For many of you who have been to Akiba, thi is the home to the famous Megane Super rapper. There are many YouTube videos featuring this brilliant performer.
I've seen quite a few shops close thier doors in recent days. Notably is the loss of the Asobit Hobby Kan and the closure of the Game Kan at the end of this month.
Certainly Akiba looks a bit different than it did a year ago.
Of course this kind of change is a constant thing and Akiba has been through many changes and will go through many more in the years to come.
But remember, if you have a favorite store or company, if you don't patronize them today, they might be gone tomorrow.

Have you lost anything during this global recession? Like a favorite store or restaurant? I lost a job, but it turns out that was one of the best things for me. Now if I could just lose a few pounds...
