Are you living in a country other than the one you was born in? If so,
what foods do you miss from back home?
イギリスでよく喰っていたマッフィンが東京で買えるのは嬉しい過ぎ。味も本格的だ。

Since I live in Australia, most cultural foods are brought down here one way or another. Although the food never tastes as good as it would from its country of origin.

意外だ。大概日本人は日本人の嗜好に合わせてバリバリにカスタマイズしちゃうから
マッフィンも原形を留めない、「自称マッフィンな何か」になってると思ってたんだが。

The past year when I was leaving in UK the things that I missed the most was Spanish sausage and Jamon Serrano, and also the sunflower seeds (the ones skinned, there is tradition in Spain to eat them this way).
I have to say that I could find spanish sausages, but they were not as good as the ones you could find in Spain ;)

Is hard to send food to other countries, Spain people always suffers because they love Jamon Serrano(salted jam)
but the Japanese customs dont like it :D

How could anybody not like salted jam!!!
The recipe is quite simple:
Get some bread, toast it, put grated tomatoes with some salt and a good olive oil, then put the salted jam (a good quantity as well)
Simply delicius!!

Mexican Food. God, I miss it. I love Japan and Japanese food. Don't get me wrong. But, I have always lived close to the border with Mexico and been used to having excess to good Mexican Food.
I did try Mexican food in Japan once. It had been altered to match Japanese tastes. Apparently, they don't like melted cheese or spicy foods much. The salsa was like plain tomato juice and all dishes came with lots of rice. Not that bad, but was not what I was used to.

Agreed there. I used to live in the US and fell in love with mexican food. Canberra doesn't have many Mexican Restaurants, and they're not very good.

This is kind of funny but my boss is the one who is currently living outside of where he was born. Lived in England all his life and his favorite beer can only be found in Europe called Holstein Pils which I'm guessing some of you know it. Anyway friend and I started making beer as a hobby, and since my boss can't find this beer he is now begging me to try and reproduce it. We looked into it but we're pretty sure the process would be a bit more expensive for us to make a pilsner.... like 500 dollars more lol.
All round good guy and musician
Your boss may have lived in England, but is obviously not English as he would prefer ale - Beer (note the spelling) made from hops - and not stored in a cold chiller, either!!
Holstein Pils is a lager. We call it Holsten piss, cos it looks and tastes like it!

Crumpets and English Muffins really aren't that good...if you want real British breakfast find a place that serves Bubble and Squeak...

Despite being born in the UK, I don't think I will miss the food from there unfortunately after having a lot of British food for so long. Besides, there's a good variety of food and cuisines available in Hong Kong anyway so I won't have to go to the UK to have them.
With the exception of my favourite ale 6X which is only available locally to a town called Devizes...

I know this will be a bit off track but, I like to use English Muffins to make mini pizzas with. Some marinara spaghetti sauce, and shredded mozzarella cheese with toppings of choice, dash on oregano and then broil.^^

I'm not exactly in another country, but living in MI from IL, I'm really craving some German flavors I grew up with that you can only get in a multi-cultural city like Chicago.

As i live in France halfway up a mountain, its pretty hard to get certain English foods(even though its only across the channel) But what i miss is a good old roast dinner with all the trimmings. Tried to make Yorkshire puddings, but due to the high altitudes they didn't rise

The only time I eat these are when I go to McDonalds for breakfast. Those digital price tags look cool. We don't have that here. The price tags are only printed on paper.

Although I'm not outside of my country (still the same country, only a different place), I miss cheap prawns, beef soto (they have only tomyam or curry mee in KL) and to some extent, porcupine stew (!); something that are found only in my state.
