This is my Mum's fridge. It has the Ion Plasmacluster technology from Sharp built in. I was really surprised to see the Ion mark and this fridge in Australia.

In Japan I have a small Ion Plasmacluster air filter to keep the air in my apartment free of allergens and hopefully virus particles.

Here is what I wrote earlier in the year "Plasmacluster technology emits positive and negative ions into the air, and thereby deactivates impurities. They are designed to combat dust, allergens, pollen and other air borne particles such as tobacco smoke, cold viruses etc."

It looks like Sharp is applying this new technology to a number of its products, and rolling them out to international markets fast.

Have you heard of the Ion Plasmacluster technology? Do you have any products that use it?

I've never heard of it, but then again I dont have a sharp fridge or aircon. I agree new fridges and definetely aircons should have filters because of all the air they blow around. If they suck up and trap dust and stuff then that is great. But all this talk of an imbalance of charged ions sounds like a gimmick...

But then, if it works its good! Does it?

I've not heard of Ion Plasmacluster, but I do like Japanese fridges, especially the ones that shout at you if you leave the door open.

I think one function they should have is that of Summer Chill Cabinet, a section that you can sit in to cool down when the humidity gets to be too much.

I'd also like to see our fridge stop being so noisy and pretending it's going to break down soon.

If my fridge kept shouting at me when i left the door open I think I'd probably smack it.

The title post made me think this was about some new weapon that turned things to dust. Sadly I was disappointed. I'm wondering what the name Plasmacluster is doing on a fridge.

That looks like a cool fridge. Is this the article you wrote before http://shibuya246.com/2009/02/01/sharp-plasma-ion-cluster/ ? Has your machine been working well for you?
