This is just nuts! Whilst the typhoon outside doesn't seem to be all that bad (blue skies in fact), the occasional strong gusts of wind have brought the Yamanote train line (Tokyo's heartbeat) to a standstill. That combined with the stopping or delays of other lines means thousands of us are stranded, in places like Meguro. I've been trying to make the 30 minute journey to work for the past 2 hours now.
There's been a knock-on effect to the delay - with so many people using their mobiles the network has almost ground to a halt - uploading this photo took forever!
Should I give up and go home? Walk 30 mins to another station where the trains are running? What would you do?
