Out for a stroll in the park on this breezy sunny morning. There is a
huge park nearby which is filled with greenery. Tokyo maybe a concrete
city but it does have its fair share of parks. Do you have enough
greenery in your neck of the woods?
The word for a "Stroll" in Japanese is "Sanpo" [散歩].

I rather live in a city. I live out in the country, I'm tired of green. I want steel, glass, and concrete!

I'm much the opposite, I honestly couldn't bear to live in an urban sprawling metropolis...I would go insane.

I did enjoy all the parks around Japan when I was there this summer. I suppose there are a few parks around where I live right now but I've not gone to any of them.

One of the biggest mall corporations here have been incorporating parks into the mall design. And I have to say, it's quite refreshing.

Tokyo's parks make such a huge difference! I'm a country bumpkin at heart, and living in a crowded city can be pretty tough - but with a park on our doorstep its almost possible to forget that we're in a city at all!

Not too many parks here in Jakarta, most are restricted, and most of the accessible ones are not free. Singapore is so much better, I have to admit.

Ahhh....its all about balance...you can't live in a city or an isolated outskirt forever right?? Currently i'm still happy with the balance of greenery and urban-ism here in my neckof the woods...jehehhehehehe :P

If I walk in one I will reach the woods within say 15 minutes. If I walk in two other directions I will hit open farmland in 15 minutes and woods within an additional 15 minutes. The last direction lacks woods because I will reach the sea within those 15 minutes. Surprisingly even though I'm in the middle of a town whenever I look out of the window I see plenty of trees and just a few houses (I see lots of houses when the leaves aren't there in the winter though) I say the lack of green isn't such an issue here ^^

I would never fit into a city of concrete. It's noisy, crowded and completely lacks the link with life (besides human life). There is something special, almost sacred about having wildlife in the garden. This year a hedgehog built a nest like 5 meters from the kitchen window and had it babies there. I suspect it's the same one as the one who had babies there last year too.

It's not like I live far from civilisation though. I can reach the city with all it's specialised shops, the international airport and other important stuff like that within an hour by train and often I can get what I need within just half an hour and stuff like food even less than that ^^

Copenhagen has it's share of green patches as well. My favourite is where I grew up and it's actually a cemetery dating back to the 1700's. Part of it still serves as a cemetry today, but most of it is pretty much treated as a park. Which means that in the summertime you'll see both people picknicing and visiting the graves of people like the writer Hans Christian Andersen and the philosopher Soren Kierkegaard, as well as girls in bikinis sunbathing.

Melbourne has its fair share of greenery as well, but depending on whether you live in the east or west, you get varying amounts of natural topography. The east side has more trees, while the west side can seem more bleak. Melbourne CBD has ultra awesome parks though.

Golden Gate park here in San Francisco, but I dont get to go there much since I live far away and dont have a car. Most of the time I take a stroll to school, lol. Back home in hawaii it's nothing but greenery and the white sands of the beach. I miss that!
