On the way back to the office from lunch. Spotted this on the way back

A long time ago...
Very unique plot.
I guess I'd appreciate more if I watched it today... I think I wasn't quite prepared for the parodies and randomness, as I had just started watching anime and wasn't a complete otaku just yet. :P

Same here, saw it ages ago when I was still relatively new to anime.

I watched it a year or two ago and didn't really enjoy it. Occasionally it had moments of brilliance, but I found that for the most part the writing didn't flow properly and it couldn't seem to achieve a good balance of comedy and drama, nor focus just on one of them.

I need to see this series.
Nicolas Cage and Arnold Swazinager (spelling?) did pachinko commercials, youtube is your friend :P

Watched it about 6 years ago. Don't really remember it much, if at all. I do remember being like "need moar" when it ended and was disappointed with just a movie. Might have to give it a rewatch sometime. This anime was actually the subject of an anime conversation I had not too long ago too. Told myself I was gonna rewatch it back than as well. Guess I need to go make good on that.

For some reason... I couldn't get myself to watch pass the first ten minutes of the series. Most likely because I already know the story through SRW >_>

Always wanted to watch it, but kept forgetting to...or I just completely forgot the name ^_^U...

Nadesico is still one of my favourite sci-fi anime... The characters, the puns and last but not least Ruri make this anime one true classic, a must watch for everyone.
...And I'm still asking myself what the mahjong episode was about...
I personally love Nadesico, the customers where I work do not... I had a lady threaten violence against the TV unless I turned it off. O.o

Still waiting for that sequel that Ruri promised us at the end of the TV series T^T
There was a movie made taking place three years after the series. Nadesico Prince of Darkness.

I used to watch Nadesico religiously when they aired it on the UK Sci-Fi channel many years ago during Saiko Exciting on the weekends. It's a great series if you're just looking for a nice bit of fun, random anime.

I saw the series, a peculiar mix of fun, intrigue politics and love. One needs to watch the whole series to understand it. Read that one need needs to watch the special OVA Genkiganger to fully understand Nadesico movie. Which is more linear, darker and easier to understand, and in my opinion cooler. ;)
But... why are they using such an old anime. =/ Not that I'm disrespectful but baka baka. =P

Old school. Nice. I loved that series. Quite funny. And Ruri is always awesome. Plus, a whole society based off of a cheesy, stereotypical, old school robot anime? That's good for a few giggles. Then came the movie which was just...really different and I'm still not sure how I feel about it after all this time.

Great series. Great action and fun.
I've also watched: irresponsible captain tylor, outlaw star, gunbuster, infinite ryvius, cowboy bebop, banner of the stars, lost universe.
Any other good anime in this category that I missed?

Watched it and found it average; the movie made up for that and ended it nicely though. But Ruri and Megumi were enough motivation to watch ^^;

I think I remember seeing the first episode when it was on Toonami for a day. It was some kind of preview thing where they showed different series's first episodes for a week.
