No it isn't. Some people put their hands there. I tried that some guy decided to learn how I feel there and that wasn't any nice. I hit him with my elbow to make him go away and luckily it made him stop. (for the record: I'm a guy and I had never seen that guy before)

Germs can stick to plastic. They might not stay there for long, but assuming that they will not be there at all can be a serious mistake.

I can imagine your feeling. I know a guy who went to a hot dog stand and the owner said just a minute and went into the bushes in the back and did his deed (no.1, not 2). He then returned and wanted to sell hot dogs and my friend went "hey, you didn't wash your hands" and the hot dog guy failed to understand the issue even during a lengthy verbal fight. My friend then returned and told everybody and people went "oh but I have been buying hot dogs there for years"

Surprisingly half of the people being informed of this continued to buy hot dogs there because even though it had such a "minor" problem it was still the closest one and walking all the way to the next one will kill you for sure :/

This brings back memories. At school some guy assaulted me from behind, pulled my pants backwards (not down!) and threw some candy in there. I grapped it and threw it towards him. I hit him right in the forehead and it bounced off and landed on the table right behind me. The guy sitting at the table looked because he noticed the sound of something hitting the table and said "ahhh candy" and ate it before anybody could say anything to him. He refused to believe when he was informed where it had been. It didn't taste bad (he must have a shitty taste).

Let this be a lesson for you. Never accept candy where you don't know where it have been!
