Just arrived in a town called Noboribetsu which is famous for it's hot
springs. T'was an hour train ride from Sapporo station.
Off to a Ninja theme park now - just imagine - a Disneyland filled
with ninjas instead of Mikeys. Will hit the hot springs after.
Weather has cleared up and everything looks gorgeous.

That picture looks so peaceful, I'll have to make a note to visit there someday.

Looks more like a dead far west town like in the Cowboy films but with more "electrics" lol...
Hey Danny! post some pics of the Ninjas plz

Nice shot.
Hot springs, sweet (>^^)> I've been reading Love Hina lately so every time I hear hot springs I always think of the series...well, actually I first think of Naru...but that's an aside.
College Freshmen
Naru's okay, but Motoko is the best. Akamatsu's earlier works were awesome, but Negima, while interesting, is taking too long. It doesn't even feel like it's close to finishing.
Hot springs are cool, but since I have sensitive skin which dries quickly I can't really stay in there for a long time. Still, being outdoors in the night when it's freezing and then going into water that's too hot is really something the first time, all conversations about whose the "big" man aside. Coincidentally, the first time I went to a hot springs someone's last name in my group was Bigger.

Looks like a nice day! If I was in Hokkaido I would be out in the national parks hiking, but a ninja theme park seems exotic enough I guess. lol

Interesting... is onsen + theme park a traditional japanese mix? xD
Sounds a lot like my trip to Nikko:

I first went to an onsen, and then to a... well, kind of a theme park that also had ninjas.
Though it's more like a mix of theme part with historical reproduction of Edo.

Ninja Micky theme park would be awesome. Hot springs would be divine to be in as well.

Always wanted to try hot springs...but it's been too hot here and with conditions like these, I don't think I'd last two minutes in there...

Hahahahahaha Danny i've been here too, and i have to admit that the Ninja theme park was really nice!
Wonder if there are still those co-ed hot springs...
Mad scientist
If you really want to try a co-ed hot spring and Japan stopped using them, then you can go to Iceland. They have them everywhere (bathing suit is mandatory though).
Mad scientist
The big red building doesn't look Japanese at all. It looks like a copy of something built in Europe in the middle ages. Considering that I know that there is such a copy somewhere else on Hokkaido I guess it's possible. It must feel really exotic to the Japanese while to me it looks like... at home ^^ (sadly not my home as in my house, but more like home area)
Mad scientist
I just realised that the European castle copy that I know of is in Noboribetsu and it is the one in the picture. I just got confused by angle ^^;
It's some theme park of some sort. They have parades with penguins in them. I know they aren't ninjas, but they wear black. Is that close enough? ^^
