It's not just the price that is the problem. The main problem is that PS3 is losing a bunch of exclusive games.

Hmmm, for some reason I'm giving up on sony, it would be sad tough because i liked the first playstation, still i wonder if Japanese game developers are gonna choose either nintendo or microsoft. Also what happened to GTA, Final Fantasy, MGS, Devil may cry etc?

Sony relied too much on PS2 userbase and loyalty that they let MS snatch the exclusives and turn games into multi-platform titles. Even Mass Effect & Assasin's Creed were originally PS3 titles but either turned Xbox-only or multiplatform. Gotta blame upper management for their arrogance but can't really blame the system.
