Olympic Haruhi

Haruhi is now the official mascot character of the Beijing Olympics. Kind of.
It looks like a text book that teaches primary school children all about the Olympics.
Thanks to Shin Asuka for sending this in via EnjoyKorea.

LOL China's reverse engineering. If spacenoids were to invade earth with mobile suits in the future, I bet China will be the first country to attempt their own imitation mobile suit project as a counter.

Batteries are always included. Last time I bought a no brand China-made walkie talkie, it came with batteries that looked like Duracell without any brands. I replace em' with Energizer batteries, for safety reasons.

mavadotar & D_Blade,

this is kinda subjective. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. every artists has their own style of drawing so i think it's not nice to criticise their style.

yes i agree if compared to the real deal, this copycat haruhi looks inferior. but lets assume that if haruhi doesn't exist, in my opinion this girl doesn't look that badly drawn at all.

Hi guys, i am sorry but i am a PRC chinese and I apologize for what the people here did, as a software engineer, i understand the importance of respect and protection of Intellectual Property, and i believe many of chinese with good education and independent-mind also understood that. It's real a shame to steal other people's belongings and therefore resulting in a bad image and reputation of the whole nation.

However to this specific case i have to defend a bit for the government,(even though i hate this autocratic government badly, --this is another political issue) this is actually not a official mascot of the Beijing Olympic. this is just a cover of a regional textbook, and I guess not every officer that censor this book are aware of Haruhi (Not an excuse though, but at least it's all too untrue to say this is a official mascot of Beijing Olympic Games)

english is my 2nd language, so i am afraid i cant express my feeling freely, but i don't mean to fight, just want to let you know that not every chinese are copycat.
Don't too harsh or demanding to this country which is in developing...

I'm glad you said something. Some people are too quick to say something accusing, rather than looking at the whole truth. This whole deal is getting way out of hand. I know that illustration is a full on copy, but I saw it as an attention grabber, something popular to get the readers attention, not something against any of the Haruhi fans. Though, many would, and do find that illustration offensive.
