Yes, very horrible. DBZ is just too off the wall for live action, we aren't ready for it yet
As will most of us ;p
Ok, so they managed to make DBALL, NGE better not end up like this XD
On the side note the hair don't look too bad from that angle
Has anyone noticed that the movie is being supported by Fox?(check right bottom hand corner) this is just the thing DB doesn't need, I mean srsly leave well enough alone and go buy the characters some laxitives.
Just imagine it as a cosplay movie and that being a little decent cosplay.
I heard tekken and fatal frame we being lives along with cow boy bebop
I seriously have my doubts about the quality of this movie.
This poster is so kitch and "has been" 3<
I'm definitely seeing it. And with very low (disappointing?) expectations I might add. heheh!
Dont do it plz
ROFL... Heart Attack.
I'm still have mixed feelings about it, more towards thinking this will be very bad than good... but I have to be thankful for it, because it is the most read post on my blog:
And thanks Danny for the poster.. I'm adding it to my... erm... post.
This won't end well...
But I'm going to watch it anyway XD
Movie going to be awesome, you all are losers.
My friend: Here, I found some screenshots from an upcoming movie. I want you to guess which one it is.
Me: Uhhhmmm... "Back To The Future 2"? (because it was the one with Marty's girlfriend in it, right?)
My friend: No, I said 'upcoming'.
Me: "Back To The Future 2: the Remake"?
My friend: Sorry. No. DragonBall Z.
Me: Ohhhhhhh. Dragonball ZEE. No Christopher Lloyd then?
Mhm. Read a bit about it too. Doesn't look like they are gonna go along w/ how things really are. The movie is filled w/ some new characters and plots....er...whatever.
Guess Hollywood really is running out of ideas....
he doesn't look very Asian...
Then WHAT IF this one turns out to be good? then all that bashing and criticizing backfires and you eventually say something like "I thought it was bad but now I'm proven wrong" or something. Who is being laughed at now? It's basically the old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover". It's also up to YOU to be convinced or not by them. Caveat Emptor essentially. Looks can be deceiving my friend, never look at something in face value. Always lower your expectations and never expect perfection.
And that previous live action adaptation? Case-in-point: Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin and Batman Forever. Those were bad. In fact many people would want to unwatch those movies. A long 8 years later, Batman Begins shows up and now The Dark Knight. Those two now are being praised as two of the best if not THE best comic book adaptations yet. Why? because different people handled them. Different people means they won't make the same movie or use the same style. So I won't put that previous Dragon Ball movie in the equation if I were you.
I just want to make it clear though that I'm not saying this new movie will be good. I will watch and then I'll decide for myself. If this one turns out bad then good for you, but if this turns out good then Stephen Chow gets one over you. Spare yourselves the regret of getting ahead of yourselves. Also when this one gets out, I would bet that almost all of you will end up watching it in the theaters anyway, which is what the studios want in the end.
no offense, just my 2 cents.
I can only envision ill omens for this movie.
Not so! See above reference to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0122050/.
Is it bad like a Saturday morning fast-food commercial, like Speed Racer was? I'm afraid to look.
No, it's fair. We're the jaded viewing audience and if they can't convince us beforehand, then we don't buy tickets. It might be less fair to shun it after it's been out a while if the response is good.
Besides, many of us were permanently scarred by that live-action Hong Kong steamer from 1989: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0122050/
i might watch this just to laugh :) or ruin it for everyone by saying the storyline :) well thats if they stick to the rightful storyline is it me or is his ball glowing ? ;-) lol i thought his ball didnt glow ;)
the DBZ movie is gunna be the biggest load of SUCK in history (enough said?)
let's just pray it turns out at least half-decent..... oh who am I kidding?? =p
I don't think it's fair to judge a movie before it even comes out. Whether this is a good idea or not is immaterial. The execution of said idea is what matters in the end and you can only see that once you've watched it.
For example, comic book movies are often looked down upon because of their sometimes shallow and simplistic plots that it sometimes seems that they were just made to sell merchandise. Recent offerings however are turning that trend over and is making them critics rethink their views. Batman Begins, The Incredible Hulk, Ironman, and of course THE DARK KNIGHT are prime examples IMO.
it appears the US will do worse to the whole Dragon Ball series than it did back in 1997 when the series first came here. With the cartoon they decided to make it all cuddly and stupid so little kiddies could enjoy it... this movie might not be any better than that ~_~
I'm going to WATCH IT!!!!!!
then BUUUUUUUU that company for lame MOVIE!!!!
....Cuz next year I'm free for half year after SPM and Friday + 13th..bad day for the western right?
really bad idea make this movie
'Heart attack'? More like 'train wreck'
I'll wait and see.
This film should be fun, I'm not exactly a fan of DBZ (find it a bit childish tbh) so I have just the level of interest to just enjoy this film and not think about how faithful it is to the show or not.
This is going to be an amazing movie. Not in the sense that it is going to be "good", but it's going to be more of a "fun" movie, since you'll get to be with your friends saying "HAHHAH THIS IS SO INACCURATE" or something while some kid's mom shushes you.
Yeah, "Heart Attack" like the watermark on the poster. T^T
this would be cool. as long as they would be able to duplicate the massive power used on the anime and put it in the movie. this will be something to look forward too. im a big fan of dragonball
A movie released in March is never a good sign around N. America... it means there aren't enough confidence for the movie to do well in Summer amongst the other blockbusters. Plus there aren't a lot of people who go see movies in March, even if it is Spring Break.
Holy Crap. Don't watch it as a way to punish those investors and producers of this piece of shit. Make them lose lots of money. I don't care how you are going to change the plot from the original, but Goku definitely needed to be an asian guy. Like can we use an asian guy to portray King Arthur or Robin Hood, the answer is NO, right. This movie is going to be a joke.
Oh wow, guess we'll wait and see what happens...
yes....and what's next, bulma and goku are a couple?
His hair is WHACK.
I can pull off the DBZ hair better!
Like some, I'll watch it just for the lulz.
Seen better DB cosplay than this.
hollywood should be careful in making film adaption of our favourite anime/manga characters, if done incorrectly, it can destroy people's childhood. like recently speed racer.
LOL i can see "Heart Attack" in the middle of the poster, dunno if it's intentional though... Maybe the person is trying to warn people the movie is so sucky it can kill?
dragon ball will now and for ever be in its full glory in anime standards no amount of movie CG or acting will change that... its like the hong kong ver. of the movie all over again
just by looking at the pic made me want to cry....>.>
Not sure if you've seen it yet but here is the official poster for Dragonball the movie which is out 2009 March *Friday 13th*.
Via Heart Attack.
