Ueno in the Winter
The Japan in the Winter theme continues and today its Ueno. Here we have a lot of Japanese tradition to be found - many shrines dotted around the area, the Ameyoko market, zoo, park and small streets of Ueno are a joy to explore - following bunch of photos taken before Christmas.
To get to Ueno, get off at Ueno station on the JR Yamanote line.
In a "Tatakiuri" [たたき売り] which means limited-time sale, you can find all kinds of sweet at a very low price.
Interesting food sample with mechanized chopsticks going up and down.
Kewpie with tatoo...
Onsen facility situated in the well known novelist Ogai Mori's house.
And you can check out what Ueno looks like in the Summer!
