They are also members of an office within METI that the Japanese government has set up to promote Japanese anime, manga, fashion, design, food and culture across the world - but not only to promote but to turn Japanese contents into business.

This months copy of Brain - a magazine aimed at folks in the advertising industry. There is a feature on "Cool Japan" where one of the Cool Japan officials also talk about the governments strategy.

For some reason I'm part of that article ^^;
What do you find cool about Japan?
For me it would be stuff like:-

  • Anime
  • Manga
  • Cute 2D girlies
  • Figures
  • Dolls
  • Language
  • Society in general
  • Rich culture
  • Diligent hardworking folk
  • Honesty of Japanese folk
  • Architecture

I know I've missed some though ^^;
