One thing that I never saw living in London or Seattle - electronic goods sprawled in front of a shop *without* any shop assistants in sight.

This type of product placement is done for a few reasons. One of them being that there isn't enough space in the shop. The other reason being to attract the passerby.

Not just electronic shops either. Walk down a typical shopping district and you will see stuff spilling out of the shop - without anybody watching over the goods. While theft obviously does happen, its extremely occasional. Just another reason why I like it over here.
Are goods displayed like this without shop owners watching over it in your region?
