The makers of Vocaloid have sent a cease and desist to doujin circle (Clock Hearts) who were taking pre-orders for an ero dakimakura of Hatsune Miku and Rin. First read about this at DarkMirage but is now all over the Japanese otakusphere. Crypton is now getting a bashing from all over. Wondering how this will affect the popularity of the vocaloid series. I personally think the illustrations are cuter than the official ones. The ero dakimakura in question can be seen here and here - NSFW ads through those links.

i think Clock Hearts is violating the mutual agreement between the content provider and the doujin circle. from what i know, the mutual agreement between the content providers and doujin circles is that content providers gives the permission to doujin circles to use their copyright material provided that it would only be sold on for one-time only like Comiket. there might be some brick and mortar or online shops that sells doujin works but if i'm not wrong, they only sell original works and not works based on a copyright material

lol, Crypton is like: oh my poor miku and rin, getting this kind of attention at their young age ToT Like darkmirage said, they probably have a ton of merchandise ready for Rin and Miku; having someone else who's selling possibly the same type of stuff for a fraction of he price is competition, no matter how small. of course, it could also be the 18+ content, and they havn't even got around to Rin's little brother yet...

I agree, they do look somewhat cuter. More ecchi aswell. You can see that as a bad or good thing depending on who you are. I couldn't care less lol, ecchi is cute normally.
