If the dog doesn't die because of car pollutants, exhaustion or doesn't end in a mess of blood and flesh, that would be a good beginning. A bicycle, why not? But a car? Hell! Can't you see what is at stake?
For all you know, that could be an elderly person driving that car, who has just had knee surgery so they can't walk the dog normally. Also, that seems like a fairly wooded, rural area. It's not the highway. Old man's probably just taking him down the street and back. Seems funny to me.
I then hope the next driver is not in a rush... I'd fear the worst otherwise.
