Otaku Purity Test

This was just floating round a group on the Neomag forum. So I thought I'd have a go for a laugh. It's like 200 questions long, but they're all yes/no, so it doesn't take long.

I answered yes to 72 questions, and am 64% pure otaku(whatever that means lol) And 36% corrupt otaku(???) I think... after reading the explanation, it means I'm only 36% properly obsessive otaku(purity means I'm not otaku apparantly), cos I didnt answer yes to all the really crazy ones... lol..... I haven't made AMV's or anything yet..... probably won't.... don't know how to seperate clips from files to put in windows movie maker.....lol.

You can find the test here.

(Just to make sure, Otaku pure means you arn't otaku, and Otaku corrupt means you are! So those with higher pure ratings are less otaku.)

Do you think this is a very up to date otaku test? It seems pretty old... the mention of vhs gives it that....retro feel lol.

(The image came from Gelbooru...or was it one of those other image sites? I can't remember... I just think its awesome... theres even a figure of it!!)

You answered "yes" to 94 of 200 questions, making you 53.0% otaku pure (47.0% otaku corrupt).
Your Weirdness Factor (AKA Uniqueness Factor) is 20%, based on a comparison of your test results with 91823 other submissions for this test.

Some of the questions were stupid and shouldnt be counted for. Like if you are X person or met X person. Anyways it was a fun test, but it could be revised over to make it better. ^^

When I realized the age of the poll, I did go back and tick off some answers that would've been valid in the 90s (Bought Jap magazines/CDs/misc without understanding Japanese). Considered replacing "LD" with "DVD" for answers, but that probably isn't fair.

Man, that poll brings back memories. Anipike! Apollo Smile, hah. Wonder if I ever took this poll back around when it was created and have forgotten about it...I bet I have.

Oh, and the "Making AMV" related questions in there are amusing - back then there wasn't really any anime on computers/the Internet, you'd make AMVs by putting in an (usually fansubbed) cassette into a VHS recorder, hook that up to another VHS recorder, play the scenefansub tape for a few seconds while recording on the 2nd VHS recorder, pause, and repeat it over and over. Yikes
