A man of 27 was arrested for the attempted murder of his sister.
As he was watching TV, his sister came along and they got into an argument about which channel to watch. The man then went to the kitchen to fetch a knife which he used to stab his sister in the stomach.

A younger brother aged 25 was present at the time but didn't do anything. The man who done the stabbing ended up calling the police to give himself in.
Their sister is in hospital recovering from the stabbing.

News from Mainichi, image of two girls about to watch some TV from Gelbooru.

Anybody here has brothers or sisters to argue with or do you get along well?

Only have one sibling, a younger sister. We generally get along well, and when we do argue I usually prove her point wrong and teach her something.

I've an elder brother and 2 elder sisters (thus making me the youngest). We used to fight a bit when younger, but not to the extent of wanting to stab each other. O_o

I think it's terrible that the younger brother knew about the incident but chose not to report it or call the ambulance. Sounds like a pretty dysfunctional family.

I has 2 brothers, aniki barely watches TV, so that's alright. Infact, we'll argue what channel to watch if there's ever blue moon.

We do argue, but it normally turns out alright. Hate and love, experience them in a week...

Why don't we just ban knives in JP alltogether anyways? Just do everything with chopsticks, then maybe less people will get hurt....

I have one sister who is 10 years younger than me, she's almost 11. We argue about little things but I love her more than life itself. Even when I was 17 I would cry because she fell off her bike and got her or when she sliced her finger with the scissors, If anything really bad were to happen to her I don't know what I'd do. My question though is, why kill your sister? If you do that then you have no one to cook you food or bring you drinks when you are watching anime or playing games.

jeezus this is sad. but hey, whoever controls the remote, controls the universe , coming from a family of six kids i know this situation all too well.

funny story too, i remember once when i was about 8, me and my little sister were arguing and screaming at each other. My mom would then intervene by jokingly saying "why don't the two of you go to the kitchen, grab some knives and settle this the hard way?" That freaked both of us out and we shut up.

ASs twisted as it may be, the fact that he gave himself in - and the fact that the brother didn't do anything - I see that as genuine remorse. My take is that they argue often, but hardly ever to this extent.

Two younger siblings. Push each others' buttons frequently and without remorse, but it has never gotten as far as physical violence.

I do have siblings. We have kinda drifted apart but I still care for them for the most part. They do tend to get annoying sometimes. But to go as far as stabbing is...well, a little crazy. That sort of thought doesn't even cross my mind. Maybe I would go as far as to push them out of the room, but nothing violent.

Yikes. Stabbing over TV? Either it was the culmination of something bigger (like how my parents once argued over what color of lights to put in the Christmas tree, and it turned into this whole thing about respecting each other's perspectives), or there's something wrong with that guy.

I can't help but find somethings wrong with this posting. The title mentions death, but yet no body died. Also, poor girl got stabbed over something very insignificant and is now probably traumatized. Scantily clad anime women shouldn't be associated with this story. But of course this is all IMO.

And the younger bother needs his ass kicked. Used to argue and physically fight with sister when she was bigger than me but once I realized I could really put a hurtin' on her I held back and just restrained her.

I'm willing to bet there was a little bit more on the argument than the TV channel only...

Because if that was it... wow, just wow.

But anyways, single child, I heard of pretty nasty fights between siblings, but nothing like this.

Usually siblings do fight a lot, but they usually are overprotective of each other too.

Wow, how old was the sister? TV is so cheap (CRT) nowdays, even a small LCD is cheap.

I think that family has bigger issues to deal with than just what channel to watch...

Well for one thing... why didn't the younger brother didn't do anything? That's a really bad apathy to have -.-''. Two: Why the heck would you use a knife to threaten, it's just silly... and yeah other issues from this story as well -.-''

Me and my sister fight, but y'know that's normal since we tend to argue. We get along fine and I always talk with her as well play with her. Y'know like watching the same anime shows (despite she being only 11. Yes I kinda corrupted her with some other anime), play together or help each other in games (she played Persona and DMC. Shouldn't be too bad right?) and help her with her school work when needed. But my quarrels never get as bad as that though.

What is this world coming to these days?

i get along with my sis and bro really well now, although we didn't use to be like that back when were little, we don't argue anymore, but we used to argue about the silliest things, like what to watch on the TV and who was doing the chores. maybe its about being mature and stuff. :D
