Lucky Star OVA

Managed to watch the Lucky Star OVA which came out the other day. What did you think of it?
Was entertaining but just seemed like more of the same - which is good but wasn't anything special.
Tsukasa was so cute though - especially during the volley ball session. Still like Kagami out of the whole bunch though.
Wheres my Figma Misao. Hmmmm.

Got the raw, and watched the whole thing, while only picking up the 0.01% of Japanese that you learn from watching anime for years. xD
Otherwise, I see nothing special, though *SPOILERS*....Konata magically making Kagami cosplay as Miku was awesome. :P

(It was quite manageable for a raw and I understood most to all of it.)

Indeed nothing special compared to the series, but more of the same "Lucky Star" goodness which is fine with me. I adore the OVA like I do the series, I wrote an entry about the OVA on my MAL blog for those interested:

Innovative to some sense but still same old Lucky Star I guess. They can't really throw away the original formula which made the TV series a success it seems.

Watched it a day or so late, but quite enjoyed it.
Quality was bit higher than TV which was nice.
Got very little of Kagamin Miku cosplay, but the parodies got a little wild, moreso than they wouldve in the TV show. I liked the drug-trippy pet store one ^_^

My favorite part of the MMO parts was seeing the random characters in the back being knocked out in a 2v1 duel and randomly jumping in for the group-pose shot and then just walking away afterwards, again randomly. Very weird.

Still haven't watched the tokuten specials included, but the 1st of 2 seemed to be a live action recording or Shiraishi and Akira's seiyuus at a convention of some kind from the minute I watched.

Hoping they make another.

The RAW version of Lucky Star OAV wasn't that hard to understand. I actually laughed a few times. It was great, especially when Kagami cosplayed as Hatsune Miku, and for a few seconds she was cosplaying Rin Tosaka. You could also see Konata cosplay as Wizard Yuki Nagato. Also, a live action Lucky Channel at the end.

That's a really good question. I'm surprised a torrent for the RAW version is available. Then again where i downloaded my torrent for Lucky Star OAV RAW also contains a lot of illegal downloads. Animesuki may not have a subtitled version available if a subbing group does decide to sub and release this online.

The pace and POVs were quite different than the ones used in the series, mostly because they could afford more animation and backgrounds I guess. Konata with ponytail is certainly moe, I want to draw some fanart of her now.

Lol yeah, they should've kept it longer and make it just like the Nendoroid version. It'd be so cute.

Though Miku cosplay was a nice and funny touch ^^. Only thing I hated about the OVA was the weird Keroro Session. That was truly random. Even for Lucky Star.

GERO GERO GERO GERO!!
