So what do folks in Japan typically have for breakfast? Most of the Japanese folks I know don't take breakfast. But for those who do then its usually a bowl of rice with some grilled fish and pickles. My brekkie is usually cereal, toast, milk, yogurt and occasionally we have a British brekkie being bangers, mash n beans. Do go out for some Mc Dee's brekkie too. I do miss having a dim sum breakfast which I used to have a lot when in the UK, Malaysia and in Seattle. If I dont take breakfast then my stomach gets the rumbles and I end up getting the runs ^^; Whats your typical morning nourishment look like?
Scrambled eggs with cheese and tomatoes or the cereal bowl with chocolate milk. Tho sometimes when I'm in a hurry I'll just get a toast and coffe or a nice cup of chilled green tea if its a hot day.
Getting the runs.... Think that was more than I wanted to know Danny. I try to have breakfast every morning, and it's usually just cereal. I can't imagine having fish for breakfast.
My "breakfast" consists of my vitamins, tea and two soft boiled eggs with seasoning salt a black pepper.
only biscuit :x
Toast or cereal, if I'm lucky. I often times end up having no time and running to school. :x
A sandwich or instant noodles if I have time. Usually I don't so I just grab a can of V8 before heading out the door. Nutritious, convenient, and leaves enough room for brunch. (Okay, so I managed to decipher brekkie, mash and beans. What's "bangers"? o_O)
Bangers are sausages
For me usually cereal with some kind of protein like cottage cheese or something, along with fruit and orange juice. If I feel more like cooking its scrambled (or poached) eggs and fried potatoes with fruit and orange juice. I don't like coffee and donuts and really sweet stuff doesn't last me till lunch and my blood sugar crashes.
Oooh... I'd like so much to be thin and never get fat, so I could have an american or traditional japanese breakfast every day.. :P Usually, nothing. Cup of tea sometimes, chocolate milk sometimes, but usually just something to drink. I only have breakfast when in trips, on hotels. But I loved breakfast at Onsens I went in Japan. Both had not only japanese breakfast, but a choice of american-like breakfast too. I, of course, enjoyed both. :P White rice, grilled fish, pickled stuff, and then scrambled eggs, bacon, bread, milk, tea, misoshiru... yummy. Traditional brazilian breakfast is similar to american ones, only we usually skip bacon, have lots of bread, strong coffee and milk optionally.
Haha depending on time, for breakfast i did eat food that should be eatn during lunch (full course rice), but usually either fried rice/noodles, roti canai, or nasi lemak Roti canai : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roti_canai Nasi lemak : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasi_lemak and for drinks, usually tea or coffee, sometimes just plain water
on the go: 2 pieces white bread with nothing leisurely: chinese food including hokkien mee, char koay teow, western bfast set, in office: roti canai or nasi lemak
If I didn't wake up late, I have whatever was for dinner the night before. No point going to school hungry!
mostly just biscuits. sometimes when i get the time i eat toast with butter and an egg or two.
Tea or Chocolate milk Toast or Cereal Though would love to try a japanese breakfast, but i sure cba to make rice in the morning and grill me a fish lol... no... to lazy for that in those early hours. -.-
hmm i usually just have coffee with milk for "breakfast" if I bake something way ahead of time I'll have it with my coffee, on weekends my hubs like to go to have brekkie with his bro and his wife and we end up having brunch lol
Scrambled Eggs with vegatables and cheese and usually bacon or sausage with a coke. Yup, I always drink a coke in the morning to wake me up. I get irritable if I don't have a caffinated soda in the morning. When on a early morning Japan trip, I have a habit of stopping in Matsuya beef bowl restaurant. Wish I had one of those right now. (:
I eat a bowl of cereal every single morning. I can't make it in the morning without my cereal! My favorite is Oh's. >_>
mostly just water, if i do wake up early its usually scrambled egg
Sadly with my weird schedule i dont have breakfast. Instead I eat lunch and then dinner and then after-midnight dinner. =/
I eat once a day and thats usually in the evenings. Danny I have the same problem you do, if i dont eat something in the morning then i have the runs. sooo lets just say.. it happens every day -_- And hun, your a bottomless pit, I think you eat more than that lol. then again i'm not around you all the time so i could be wrong. =P
I don't enjoy waking up two hours before classes just so I can eat and shower... So I usually grab a bag of Sun Chips, Grain bar, and apple juice for my breakfast. When not at school I'm not usually up for "breakfast" so I go with lunch. I use to eat hot pockets for breakfast in high school... Probably worse than not eating at all. :(
I vary my breakfast or else I get bored of it ^^;;;; Also depends how much time I've got on my hands. Cereals with a smoothie~ Bacon, beans and toast~ coffee, eggs and soldiers!~ fruits salad with cream(strawberries with cream = yummy)~ Strawberry yoghurt with Pocky ^^;;;;; I guess those are my faves, I can be pretty creative when my fridge is running low on supplies >.>
Breakfast for me varies every day. Sometimes I have an apple other times its just orange juice. This week I had a pop-tart every morning with a 7up except today I had McD's.
I have a bowl of rice with a salad. I don't have time to grill fish, so some canned tuna or some cooked white eggs make up for protein. It may look like a lot but it's actually a very light breakfast.
If I have time - Warm oatmeal with milk and bananas If I'm in a rush - 1 banana and a cup of tea (drink in the office) If I'm really in a rush - 1 cup of tea (drink in the office) You actually have dim sum for breakfast in Malaysia, Danny? I didn't know Malaysia actually had good dim sum - all the places I went to had sub-par dim sum. :/
There's a few nice dim sum place in KL but the price are a little..... example: Ah Yat Abalone Restaurant, Summer Palace. (Highly recommended)
oatmeal with raisins 1 quart of water 1 banana OR egg white sandwich 1 quart of water
My typical breakfast would be toast with Nutella. Either that or sometimes I just fry a couple of eggs.
Mmmm - Nutella - Yummmmy!
Whatever is available in the fridge/stock room. Usually it's bread and cheeze/ham or cereals.
Toast bread with butter/Nutella or Cereals ^_^
I usually dont eat breakfast but when I do it can range from a bowl of cereals to a grilled cheese sandwich. Oh and if I am out then steak and eggs baby!! lol.
Custard Bun, Cereal, Waffles, or Toast. Chococlate Milk or Regular Milk. Thats it. I can`t start the day without milk or I will be extremely cranky.
Rarely ead breakfast due to me waking up so late...
Custard Bun, Cereal, Waffles, or Toast. Chococlate Milk or Regular Milk. Thats it. I can`t start the day without milk or I will be extremely cranky.
I eat various cereals, occasional waffles or pancakes, and my favorite breakfast item is donuts! Looove donuts but I don't eat them often... because I tend to binge on them when I do.
Oh I also eat cinnamon toast and French toast sometimes. Cinnamon more the French as it's a lot quicker... but yea. Love both.
During work days: two pieces of toast, if I do eat any. Then I get to work and start chugging tea and coffee for the ye olde morning jolt-fest. In the weekends: I go all out - french toast and bacon!
If I don't eat breakfast, I'm the world's biggest bitch. I usually have a bowl of cereal, though lately I've been having granola and yogurt with strawberries. Occasionally I'll make scrambled eggs or a pop tart, but that's a weekend thing for me.
cereal for me. always cereal.
I cannot eat breakfast for some reason. If I do, my stomach starts to hurt and I feel awful half the day. But if I wait atleast 5 hours after I wake up and start eating, everything is fine...I mean what the hell. My body is a mystery.
I don't eat breakfast. I usually wake up late and it ends up being near lunch anyway. I do enjoy breakfast when I do have it. Either a breakfast sandwich with chocolate milk or orange juice, or buttered toast with HK milk tea. Haven't had cereal in years and I don't plan to.
as a kid i always ate breakfast but when i got to high school i just couldnt bring myself to eat anything(or drink any milk) within 2-3 hrs after waking up, my stomach cant take it. nowadays i would always drink a cup of green tea before i leave the house in the mornings.
if time permits, a half-boiled egg else it's a slice of wholemeal bread with nutella chocolate spread.
I usually take a small bowl of rice and anything that pairs well with rice.
For me, its usually rice, and some banchan (korean side dishes)
Usually Cereal or Toast and the odd pancakes and saugages on the weekends.
I used to not eat anything...then it was cereal bars...most recently my husband has been making me a bagel+margarine+turkey bacon :)
usually coffee and bread.
An egg and a piece of grain in my mouth on my way to school. (I oversleep a lot. >.> )
Fried garlic rice with local sausage (longanisa), sweetened pork meat (tocino), corned beef, fried milk fish (bangus) or dried bonito (tuyo) with a siding of fried egg or salted red-egg. Mmmmm... Delicious (sarap). Right now, I'm have chicken curry on rice. :)
Yogurt, bread and juice. I'm just eating breakfast atm...
Toasted egg with butter, jam or chocolate ^^; and a glass of milk
Hot chocolate, meat and rice or oatmeal with milk and sugar, vitamins and grape juice but am not a big fan of breakfast
milk, toast, and cereal, and i run out the door with a coffee
Coffee and raw eggs if I'm in a hurry, if I have time then I boil the eggs. If there is some leftover meat in the fridge then I'll take that + Coffee. Coffee takes priority over food to me ^^.
By the time I wake up it's lunch...but when I do get breakfast, maybe cereal, a sandwich, or eggs and toast...
Depends on the day. Usually, I have toast with whatever's in the fridge. Sometimes, I'll have oatmeal, or noodles, or even rice with whatever's in the fridge =o=
Hrm, I like any form of egg. But most of the time its a cup or two of coffee with some milk and two sugars :3
I don't have breakfast usually , just cereals sometimes on the weekend.
When I was in Japan every morning I had Jonathan's or Denny's. I would always get the box with nato, fish, eggs, and miso soup. I REALLY miss that breakfast.
So true! Denny's in Japan is very good!
Toast, boring but good for transit to avoid Danny's non-breakfast situation. XD
I usually have scrambled egg with onions coupled with garlic rice. Sometimes I have hotdog or "tapa" (it's beef/pork cooked in some way. Typical Filipino breakfast). If I don't have time I go to the local fastfood restaurant a eat breakfast there. PLUS you get free newspaper when you reach a certain price x_x
"Most important meal of the day".... I wonder if that's true, because I usually skip breakfast. If I have time I usually eat something like a red bean bun and drink a glass of OJ. ^_^;
i always skipp the breakfast
2 sandwiches and a cuppa thea. Very healthy it is, breakfast. I really don't understand all those people that get by by eating nothing
Depends on the day. Weekdays with uni it's usually toast and coffee, but the latter only if I have time. You know that thing you see in drawings of school girls running out the door simultaneously puttin one shoes, locking the house and eating? It's a whole lot harder to do than it looks... Weekends: Bacon and Eggs, or more recently I'll often go out for breakfast with friends as part of our uni group meetings. Then it's just the biggest thing I can find on the menu. Current personal favorite: The Fatboys' Fatric's breakfast: triple eggs, double bacon, sausages, triple toast, fried spinach, two tomatoes, saute mushrooms, tomato and onion relish, sauces and chips... all for AU$14 and available 24 hours a day. It also goes down well at 3am in the morning just staggering out of a club.
bowl of muesli or oats, otherwise a piece of toast. I will go a Mc Dee's brekky about once a year.
On a school day I usually eat toast and a cuppa milo... If on a weekend sometimes, I eat rice...
When I have to rush out the door I usually grab one of the blueberry muffins my mom always makes. If it's a weekend I usually have scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage between two pieces of toast.
Not much, coffee + toast when I have the time. Coffee +... chewing gum for the rest (read ALL the time)
I'm skipping breakfast all the time and I don't consider if I'm eating after 10am meals breakfast, and heck I wake up 11am in the morning. I hope I can eat normal breakfast if I have a normal lifestyle.
If I remember to eat breakfast, or most importantly wake up in time for breakfast, it's usually my trusty "anytime is fine" cereal+milk combo (literally anytime, eat that at 3-4am too). Long gone are the days where I get up early enough before the fresh Nasi Lemaks are all sold out. But now that I'm starting work again, probably a cup/bowl of cereal+milk, and some portable biscuits to eat in the car. I know, I'm not being really good to my body. I need to curb my vampiric sleeping habits first...
Anything goes. Anything but bugs and brinjal. Sometimes though, breakfast and lunch go on a date and I end up meeting them together. :P
Frosties with milk, every morning ^^ And I hear they also have that in japan, so that's good ^^
i'm a big breakfast kinda person, as in I need a real heavy breakfast to start functioning in the morning. anyway, isn't usually bread for most pple I guess.
I'm not a cereal person, so I just have fruit for breakfast, bananas are my favorite at this time of day. If I've missed the shopping run, then toast is the only alternative I'll eat in the mornings.
If I don't skip breakfast, then it is usually a bowl of cereal w/ toast, or eggs and toast. Unless of course, there is a lack of bread, then it's just one of those and not two T_T.
Cereal usually. Sometimes oatmeal. And sometimes donuts.
