Akiba Blog discovers a pile O games that Sofmap in Akihabara is trying to get rid of. Among the mountain of poo includes... Metroid Wii - 180 copies at 1,980 yen each Naruto Dairansen NDS - 220 copies at 980 yen each DS Cooking - 300 copies at 580 yen each (lol) PS2 Seaman - 76 copies at 980 yen. Was Wii Metroid that bad? Trying to think of the worst game that I've played and can only remember a recent one - Onechanbara for the Wii. Loved the thought of a scantly clad cowgirl with a samurai sword slashing away at zombies - but this turned out to be 23 shades of poo. Whats the worst game ever that you have had the displeasure of playing?
wow what a bunch of craps indeed ... wonder whos gonna buy this outdated games..well my worst game i played ungh!! this is tough i think Clock Tower back in the PS one Days thats all i can recall so far
My recent worst game must be Assassin's Creed. Looks good, but it just doesn't hold together. Btw, PS2 Seaman was crazy.
Got the same feeling from trying Assassin's Creed.
I tried to like Assassin's Creed...but it's good looks weren't enough to save it.
yeah after the first assassination in the city it gets really boring. its the same crap over and over again....
Are you friggin' kiddin me?! What platform did you play on? I got 100% on my PS3 (borrowed the game from a friend) and I think its gameplay is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more solid that the last 2 or 3 Prince of Persia's! They say it can be a bit buggy, but I didn't encounter a single bug during my playthrough.
Have to agree, AC was a very good game.
only thing i can that i actually HATED was Rise of Nations...frustrated the hell out of me that i ALMOST wanted to chuck my monitor out the window... but the worst game i've played was Kane and Lynch for 360....i had so much hope for the game...somewhat interesting storyline and great character design...but when i rented to see how it was before i actually wanted a copy of it, the gameplay just went out the window...stupid AI, almost non-responsive control, crappy environment, crappy in-game dialogue... i hate it when all the hype goes to hell...
Was RoN that bad? The only thing I hated bout it was the campaign where you have to gather resources and start from scratch everytime after building massive stuff from the previous mission.
Well I thought that Metroid corruption was awesome but then again it did not bring as large a wohoo effect as the Metroid prime did because almost everything in metroid prime was a new idea. The price surprised me though; it’s about 1/6 of what I gave for it when it got out. I don’t have one game on the list of the worst I ever tried; most of the Disney games made over movies are really really bad.
Can't think of many crap games. But recently played "Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front" and it's almost crap. Too strategy bound, slow reactions and the gundams...their too strong.
i disagree, i found that having to use tactics and having limited units to carry out missions was nostalgic to a point of 8th ms team. also your suits werent invincible, so you had to carfully conduct the missions in order to survive and complete all the objectives.
man, thats a dam good price for Metroid Corruption. I guess Japan wasnt a fan of the first person Metroid series.
OMG! I'd get a naruto and metroid please!! ... i havn't really had recent games... but (i got a Bunch of old school systems in my basement and i usually play em all the time (64, super nintendo, wii, ps2, gamecube, ect.)i would have to say, Where's mario is the worse game i have ever played.
But it's a classic, I know Mario can't compete against the new generation of video games but I still love playing MarioKart Wii online ^^;
The worst games i have ever played? Take a look at about 1/4th of the old NES and SEGA libraries.
LOL so true. Things like Dragons Lair for NES, and Star Voyageur ruined games in my childhood XD
Eh? Metroid Corruption wasn't bad at all, but come to think of it I still have to finish it. PS2 Seamen... Unappealing title. LOL
LOL
"Do you play seamen"
LOL
lololololo what an unfortunate title
That anyone would consider Metroid Prime 3 "crap" is a travesty again gaming. Prime 3 is the best single player game of this generation so far. The controls are incredible, the art direction is incredible, the level design is incredible. That it would be regulated to the bargain bin in Japan is just sad. I'll never understand Japan's indifference to the Metroid franchise. They have no clue what they're missing.
Or maybe they were expecting the Japan audience would be so crazy for the game that they ordered a boatload of copies. I guess the game didn't sell enough for all the copies to go,so now the store is selling their leftovers for cheap. Also, some of the gamers likely didn't have the money for the game at full price not that it was crap. Don't Wii games and games in general cost more than in the US? Like $60 Wii games instead of $40 or $50 in the US?
I know, but the title of the article was "Crap games". And then seeing Prime 3 sitting at the top of the article was just...not right.
As far as the worst games I've played? Practically all of THQ's line up from the SNES days was complete garbage. I also remember Secret of Evermore being pretty terrible.
When I was very young, I completely disliked Tron: Maze-a-tron for the Intellivision. I don't know remember why exactly, but that game was horrible. In slightly more recent times, Robotech: Battlecry was disappointing.
Worst game ever... so many, but I guess the 1st place goes to Dark Castle for Sega Genesis and close behind is Silver Surfer for NES. And Oneechanbara is BAD, I tried the PS2 version and it was horrible, bad controllers, horrible music, no difficult.
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption... NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams... These are GOOD games! Seriously! wtf... meh, if they help sell then all for the better!!!!
I tend to hate games from movies, like Matrix, Godfather, charlie's Angels, you know what I mean, you just watched a good movie and the you are like hey let's play the video game eeeehhh...... bad idea.
I know what you mean. ^^
One word: Goldeneye
Goldeneye game must've been more popular than the movie itself imo. That was one very popular adaption I should say.
The Japanese are not fond of FPS afaik, so I won't be surprised that they don't sell too well.
fps are just weak and if you have played one you have played them all. they just throw in a new gun or two and change the game physics and send out another piece of crap. games are about substance and there is none to be found in fps
Hmmm... I have no idea, because I tend to forgot the games I hated. ><
DS cooking? Can you eat it too XD Naruto DS do not want, even if it's cheap.
Oh yeah, most annoying game of all time: CastleQuest for the Nintendo. Neverending tune for 100 levels, it's been stuck in my head since my childhood. gah!
I chose the games I pay for very carefully to avoid ending up with "crap." If I have to name the worst game I own it would have to be Final Fantasy X. Many people seem to enjoy ff10, though, so... I don't know >_>
It was probably the Sphere Grid that you hated. Everything else was enjoyable.
As far as I know.. it's not that those games are crap... they are in the bargain bin because the store has a huge stock that isn't selling for the past x weeks. I mean, even Metal Gear Solid 4 were in those bins sometime ago. Store bought too many copies and it didn't sell as well as they initially though it would. Anyways, I usually don't HATE games... I just stop playing before hating it. I do regret two games I bought: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and Hellgate London. They aren't completely bad, but they were a waste of money to me, since I was only interested in playing them for a short time before they got boring to me.
Cruis'n or however you spelled it sux big time. No updated graphics or anything. STRAIGHT from the 15+ year old arcade.
Worst game ever is World of Warcraft. No other game consumes life nearly as fast.
/agree xD
amen
Metroid Wii was pretty good if you ask me. As for my worst game ever, it's hard to say since there aren't many games that I outright hate. I guess I would choose Suikoden 3 or Wild Arms 1, but even so, there's bound to be MUCH worse stuff out there.
I don't really know what my worst ever was - bad games tend to get wiped from my mind pretty quickly - but I hated Oni for PS2. Flippin' camera never worked right, radar sucked, and I couldn't even shoot properly.
I didn't realise Metroid for Wii was that bad either... thought I'm not even sure its out in the UK yet... A really bad game... I don't buy games that often, and only ever buy games I know I'll like(Harvest Moon, Sim games, Pokemon...) or games that get very very good reviews. But I buy more manga, dvd's and figures than games.
For me, probably "The Bouncer" and "Ergheiz". Both from squaresoft on PS2. Yes, there was a time where squaresoft released something else that the usuals FinalFantasy but unfortunely, these two were crap
I'm not sure but one big disapointment I got was Shinobi for the PS2, had nothing to do with the original and later Sega came up with Nightshade wich was a sort of spiritual sequel. It was somewhat better in gameplay and graphics but still probably 2 of the worst games I ever played.
Sousei no Aquarion was horrible on the PS2. Painful to play considering that it could have been such a good game with some more work. I didn't even bother to play it more than an hour or so. Gunbuster was pretty bad as well..
Maybe I'm swiming against the stream on this one but I HATED (as in, KILL IT WITH FIRE FROM THE DEEPEST DEPTHS OF HELL) Echochrome. It's a nice idea, the whole perspective thing, but the damn thing makes my eyes hurt (which is hard for a b&w game) and gives me huge headaches!
i played it for a while last year, it was fun during the short amount of time i had with it though. although i suppose it can get a bit repetitive after a while...
I'm a big rpg videogame player and one game that stands out in a negative way is Final Fantasy IX. The characters were not very likeable and I just hated just about everything in the game. From the world to the card game. It just didn't have the same mature style as VII and VIII, which I really enjoyed.
i think that ffxii was a fun game to play but it definately had painful characters, the only one i could really get into was ashe. but vaan was... well kinda painful to looks at and his outfit really bugged me.
What about his outfit? ^^
I don't make a point of remembering the really bad games; I just forget them and move on. Funny thing, though: I just picked up Metroid Wii today on clearance for $12 US (and Nights Wii for $15). hmm.
Worst game I ever played huh? Remember a PS2 title called Oni anyone?
hmm I played Oni on the PC and I thought it was fun lol
The American Idol game for GBA. But at least it was terrible enough to get a good chuckle out of. And no, it wasn't my copy. There are better things to spend my money on.
GBA monopoly.... really really crappy
Metroid Prime Wii is an excellent game. I payed full price on launch day.
Robotech for PS2
The cream of the crap for me had to be Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout. The U.S. version. I swear... the dubbing was bad, the controls were bad, and the only thing salvageable was the animation (if I do recall). I swear... This made both Robotech and the Macross VR games tolerable. -_-;;
You didn't like Steven Jay Blum as Goku!!?
lolololololololo i would not play a DBGT game if someone payed me to do so. everything about gt was bad and many of the happenings totally contradict those in the real DB. and the english bud was horrible, i am ashamed to have the dub for that come out of calgary. it was a disgrace to toriyamas work.
Metroid Prime 3 was not a bad game at all, quite the contrary. It's just that the Metroid -series isn't as popular in Japan as it is in the West (especially Prime, as it is almost a FPS) and the typical Wii owner isn't interested in these sort of serious/traditional games.
Metroid Prime 3 is a truly awesome game, there's nothing bad about it at all. I'm pretty sure the reason why its in a bargain bin is because, from what I've heard, the Metroid series isn't very popular in Japan as well as the lack of popularity FPS games have in Japan as well. As for the worst game I've ever played. Well I can't really think of any off the top of my head but I'm sure I've played my share of horrible games.
It's well known Japan was never really that big into Metroid... it's not a crap game by any means. It's probably one of the better Wii games out there.
I agree NARUTO is a piece of crap, PERIOD!! all the others seem decent
My friend thought Metroid was good and from what I saw was pretty entertaining as well...worst game I've ever played...an NES game from way back then whose name slips my mind at the moment...
I love how you have the trailer for Oneechanabara.... Saw the movie, and now rethinking trying out the game.
Superman 64 = crappiest game ever!
I only play good games. but the only game I hate is mario party 8 wii
Metroid Corruption is totally cool! WHy'd they want to get rid of that so badly? Worst game I ever played, I guess that has to be mission impossible on the N64, the controls, enemies, objectives and graphics were just poo
chromehounds i think
The Japanese aren't too keen on FPS games, so I'm not surprised Metroid's on the pile.
Sin duda el peor juego que he jugado últimamente es assasin creed, y el mejor seria lost odyssey
Gaming market is currently very over saturated. Or maybe I just feel theres too many good game coming out too soon. You don't really get to "get into" a game before moving on the the next one. I have more that 10 game in cue and am rushing to complete them because I know I have more on the way.
I've played so many crap games in my lifetime. Sometimes, you just keep playing them for the sheer entertainment of how stupid and lame they are. That usually only lasts an hour at most. Some games that come to mind are "Street Fighter: The Movie" and "Jaws". There are others, but I don't feel like making a giant list.
