Following my previous post a few months ago about my current gunpla project which can be found here, I am finally able to show some updates on what I've done so far. It's still a work-in-progress. I'm over with the major painting. It's time for the detailing and (slight) weathering now. Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3 Photo 4 Photo 5 Photo 6 Photo 7
Hmmmmah this looks familiar. Did I see this at MechaPinoy? Masarap =D
Probably ;P
Nice spraycan painting, must have got you alot of work for masking the parts. Guessing that it should be taller than the regular 1/144 kit as you mod the extra joint at the leg. Think you will be adding a flat coat top?? No?? I know its rather hard to control the spraycan, some parts, the paint is rather thick thought, can see the excess paint flow down ( photo 6, the palm )
I used an Airbrush here. The paint is actually quite thin. It only looks thick because of the gloss coat I applied. Once I give it the final flat coat, everything will be just right. And about the palm, that's actually dried glue that I forgot to sand off ^^;
Airbrush....hmmm, think its the gloss that is making it look thick like spraycan paint. Could be also cause by the nozzle you use is big as to prevent clogging of paint from airbrush. Anyway, nice work.
STOKED! I GOT STOKED! COOL DUDE!
nice mod for 1/144. Love the head and shoulder armor! the knife increase the close combat feeling. why not do a 1/100? I once did a mod of the old sandrock with 4 blades. yea, the paint does look rather thick. Probably can cover the thickness during the weathering.
Thanks. I'm fine with just modifying 1/144 models as of now. 1/100 kits just might take up too much time when modifying. The flat coat will take care of the illusion of thickness, it's just the gloss.
Nice color scheme. Sandrock Marine Type XD
nice work Karl.
nice! Sandrock looks cooler. Can't wait to see the weapons ^^
whoa! That looks so cool
gundam? custom built ?
flat it flat !!!! [i mean use tamiya flat topcoat lol]
Nice color scheme, yellow and shade of blue. ^^
it looks like one of those paintschemes on Oracle from one of those Japanese Armored Core Nexus fansites. What particular shades of blue/grey are you using here?
It's actually purple ^^; There's something about the camera that won't catch that. Anyway, I don't really know the names of the colors since all of those are custom-mixed. The Lightest "grey" is actually white mixed white a little Azure blue, the "grey" color is actually a mix of royal blue and red, and the darkest color is a darker shade of midnight blue.
