Want. Also need more lenses. At the moment only have a macro and wide. Via Engadget.
Nice but shame its Olympus. Not a fan of that brand when it comes to DSLR. You can get cases for your DSLR like the one im planning to get for mine from here. http://www.camerarmor.com/canon_30D.html What Macro lens you using Danny? Atm all i have the same as you. A Macro (EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM), UWA (EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM) lens and the kit lens (EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM).
wow, makes me wish I could trade in my canon 400d. ^^ btw Dnny what sort of lens are you planning to get?
I wouldn't dare take my digital rebel out in the rain, since it would probably just fizzle and die, but I have used my 5D outside in the rain and the snow without any problems. It is brand new, but I have had 0 problems. I think camera makers are getting a little better abuot those things. Only thing is that my 5D is plastic, and even my Rebel had a harder shell. I treat it like it's gold.
ooo, going for hidden cam in swimming pool eh?~
actually there are method to make your current SLR waterproof cheaply. Just stuck a large plastic bag on it, cut the plastic in front of the lens cleanly and put a lens hood so the plastic stays. next remove the rubber on the viewfinders' eye cup and pull the bag over it so the open end faces down. The open a small hole on the plastic and pull it tight so it sits snugly ard the eye cup, then refit your eye cup so the plastic stays need to mention that the under parts still exposed, but should be fine in most cases (unless you're planning to shoot underwater) taken from digital camera mag nov edition
I have actually seen those online! You would have to search for them, not sure where I saw them, but a company out there makes lens size fitted plastic bags just for that. So the bag is waterproof to like 10 feet or something [its just for work in the rain I believe], but there is an opening that is made of glass where you pop it over the front of your lens so the surface of your lens doesn't even get wet. Probabyl pretty cheap. Certainly worth the price of what COULD happen! hehe
I'm going to get a Sony Alpha 100 considered the best SLR by Eisa in Europe, at moment I'll stick to the normal lenses it comes with it and later I'll get a macro one
Well, SRL stiil is a good camera. I'm using mine and I'm really happy with it. :)
I have the old E-1, so I'll be getting the E-3 next year. My lens should love this new body. Fun camera. Takes care of itself. My lens are - 7-14 SHG 35-100 SHG 14-54 HG
I've held this camera... I do the website for this camera company on Long Island and this camera is awesome. Its the Olympus E3. I gotta buy it. ^_^
Plastic bag or just something to keep it covered until I shoot is what works best for me. Maybe a EF L 24-70mm f/2.8 or possible a EF L 16-35mm f2.8. I need to replace my EF 35mm f/2.0, I broke it earlier in the year. It's a low cost lens but really great on my 20D. Would also work well on your EOS Kiss. I use it for full or partial portrait shots. In other words it not great for say head shots. Did I mention it was cheap. ^o^ Right now I really want to spend more time with my camera.
I got Pentax K10D and it's waterproof too. Great camera, btw! Lurve it! ^o^ Check this http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/pentaxk10d/
Ah, forgot to mention - Pentax provides a rather wide variety of fine lenses for K10D. Check 'em here: http://www.pentax-k10d.jp/english/
Rebel XTi + (EF 28-135mm Lens) Very light, versatile, and intuitive setup Hasn't let me down yet ^^
I could use one. I'm leaving for Scotland on the 31st, and I'll be taking my 350d (kiss n in japan, i think rebel XT in the US). As you all know, Scotland is pretty rainy, all year long, night and day... I nearly drowned my compact (nikon coolpix l2) 2 years ago in Iceland (yeah I love rainy places with nobody in them). Hope the heavier the camera, the more resistant it is... As for the lens, I would suggest a zoom. I recently bought a 75-300mm F4-5.6 USM, not too expensive, so I thought it would help for a while but I really came to like it.
