We talked about surgery the other day so today lets talk about makeup. Question for boys: Do you prefer your girls with our without makeup. Question for girls: What do you think about boys who wear make up - many boys in Japan do and I'm not talking about the folks on TV. The Japanese word for "no makeup" is "suppin" [すっぴん] Via Neta.
Meh, my Fiancee doesn't wear make-up. It doesn't make that big of a difference to me. The girl above though, has more that just make-up done to her. The first pictures looks like she just rolled outta bed. Let see her sans makeup but at least out of the shower and ready to start the day.
Speaking of the girl pictured above; I would hate to go out on a date with her looking like the "after" persona and then waking up in the morning with her "before" appearance.
If they have natural beauty, I guess a little makeup will do. Too heavy makeup just sort of turns people off though, I think just enough will do.
Heh, never come to New Jersey. It'll just be a huge turn off lol
Y'got that right... *bleh* E^d
in think it that picture the makeup doesnt enhance her look but is trying to change it.
'i think in that picture...' and for me, i'd only use some concealer, powder, and lip gloss.
There also eye liner and a new hair-do
dont have a girl, but in case i get one, i'd definitely would prefer her not to do any excess makeup. interesting thing about boys wearing makeup in japan. what makeup do the boys wear?
mascara (wrong spelling) and foundation and some lip stick.
that's kinda disturbing lol
in the west, guys are using eyeliner more readily
Indeed, a friend of mine wears eyeliner, he's very emo :D I think in the west, guys wearing makeup is more a fashion statement than anything else, hence why guys do get a lot of stick here for wearing it.
I think mascara is fine.. especially because the before and after look aren't drastically different. Imo, pimple cream > foundation and chapstick > lipstick. If they do it right, it'll look good. From what i know, girls like guys who are confident in the way they look, without excessive makeup covering up their true features. I wonder if guys are the same...
I'm saying both, either way a girl can look pretty. ^^
Wow, Makeup truly is amazing. I never wouldve thought those two were the same person, look a like maybe but not the same person.
Without is the way to go
I'm not saying girls shouldn't wear makeup. But not all the time, I prefer the face to look natural, a little bit is ok though if you have bad skin/blemishes/scars. But It really turns me off seeing women with tons of mascara on, and a foot thick load of makeup on their face.
Moderation is ok for makeup. Otherwise the natural beauty is already a strong base with or without makeup unless the makeup is overdone.
I do not like make up lol I would forget I have it on and say rub my eyes and stuff LOL I do wear lipgloss once in a while tho and I always moisturize my face since canada weather is very dry ^^
Yeah usually I don't put makeup, but whenever I try a bit of mascara and eyeliner, I have to remember not to scratch my eyes, which is hard sometimes lol. XP Anyways, don't like to use makeup coz it's too troublesome, although sometimes it's fun (and want to look nice for my bf lol).. But just imagine one day your partner waking up in the morning, look at you and scream "who are you?!!". XD
I too prefer natural looks, if occasionally used I don't mind but excess makeup is just disaster. It's as if a newly painted bench in a park with a sign "do not sit/touch". Btw about the boys issue I too wonder what makeup they use, you consider face creams skin care products etc. as makeup or you really mean the makeup things womens use just like in the picture you've put which makes considerable changes in your looks?
on the pic above, face of "before" with hairstyle of "after" ^^
photoshop told me that it doesn't fit together ^^; In the process I noticed that the camera settings are the reason for the difference in skintone, notice the greenish background of the before picture? Generally think strong makeup makes a person look ehm.. cheap? I think bit is ok (although not preferred) for special occasions.
Depends. Sometimes makeup really is essential.
My wife will wear a little bit of makeup when she wants to. 99% of the time, no makeup used and no makeup needed.
I think natural is the way to go...perhaps makeup on special occasions like ceremonies...
no make-up, all natural :P
If you want more before and after pictures Sankaku Complex did a article a while back http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2008/06/20/makeup-comparisons-before-after/
extreme maker over contestants fall into a whole other category. but the asians with the weird doll eye makeup are just creey.
Personally, I prefer a girl that will go without makeup normally. Though I remember dating a girl that was gorgeous without makeup and normally went without it, but for special occasions would get fully dolled up with light makeup. The change in pace was great.
prefer no makeup, jus plain being will do
I personally don't wear makeup save for special occasions. As for boys that wear makeup, I don't really mind if they do or don't.
I would be freaked out if my husband wore makeup. I wear lip gloss every day, and sometimes eyeshadow. But that's about it.
I'd want a girlfriend who looks good without makeup...
Makeup in moderation can be a great thing but to much is just too much. I saw an older woman who had so much mascara(?sp) on her eyelids that she looked like she had two huge black eyes.
Definitely prefer no makeup. Light makeup if must. Women who cake on makeup often gives me the impression of being fake or sleazy.
Ta Da! Zes Magic! I don't mind if she wears makeup or not, but spend any extensive amount of time with a girl and you're bound to see her au naturel. Me being a guy, I don't wear makeup, but I'm already damn gorgeous. j/k
Depends on the girl, some really look better with make-up. Sometimes, albeit rarely, i dont even mind heavy make-up. But going natural suits some people more, and can be very beautiful too
I like her, "I just got f*cked" hairstyle.
I prefer the before pic of that girl actually lol. The hairstyle on the after looks....weird.... I suppose I go 'suppin' then lol.
I like girls with light make-up, something like what the girl on the photo has. I dislike the "heavily painted harlot" look.
I hate it if girls hide their beauty behind makeup.
Depends on person.
i prefer women/ladies/girls without makeup. but on special ocassions or once in a while it's ok. but i love a girl who's cute without makeup. but that's just me.
I hate heavy make-up. Light make up to enhance some features is ok. A girl who's beautiful without make-up: Priceless.
A little Make up to enhance your looks is alright by me... But if the girl wears it like a mask thats a big no no
I gave it some thought and concluded that the girls without makeup give me the impression they are more down to earth. I like that.
I prefer suppin, but i do like the way some girls set up their hair at times
I think a bit of makeup is alright, just the amount you don't really notice, or a bit of color here and there butnothing too strong.
I like when girls switch between no makeup and *some* makeup... that way us guys get some variety! (Sorry-- I know that probably sounds a little bit bad, but I mean it in a gentle, non-chauvinistic way). As for guys wearing makeup....well, it's definitely not for me! I was rather surprised to see the WIDE variety of beauty-care products available for men in Japan. Go to a pharmacy or even a convenience store like Family Mart or Lawson's. There are MANY choices.
If only we could somehow get this poll shown over the entire net... Maybe then we can destroy the tight hold the make-up industry has over our children. Sigh... As of yet, I don't see anyone that says they prefer makeup to "suppin". What if this was true for the majority of men all over the world??? I, for one, detest makeup's intent to make a person look different than what they truly are. It's the same as a woman wearing push-up bra or a guy stuffing a sock down their pants, etc., in that it's false and vain.
すっぴん の方がいい
Definitely without makeup. I don't see why girls have to cover up what they were given in life. I don't care about looks, race, or body type. To me all women are beautiful. I preffer a girl with a good heart, than a smokin' hot stuck up girl who doesn't even know how to do math.
my girl wears light make up all the time. I DO prefer seeing her with light make up. it's not that she'll look fake or anything, but it just brings out more of how she looks I guess. one thing that my girl has always told me is that proper removal of make up and care for the skin is utmost important if cosmetic products are used. or not too much/too heavy make up will end up destroying the skin...
Depends on the person really, but they should be sensible and sparing with it if possible.
i prefer make-up, only because i feel better when i'm done up. i never go overboard, just enough to accentuate. as for guys wearing make-up, doesn't matter to me. i've met and seen some guys who apply it better than some girls.
It all depends in the situation maybe~ Maybe on special occasions i'd like her in makeup though in moderate amounts :)
hmm interesting... I dont put makeup on myself that's why some people say i look way too different with it. men with make-up = i can only bear up skin enhancers, nothing else. but good grooming is essential too :)
The girl in the picture looks much better with make up >_< In the US I think that men prefer girls who look good even with out make up, and then wear a small amount of make up to look even better. Wearing too much make-up is trashy looking, but the ideal look isn't naturally occurring. As for me, I wear make up about 50% of the time to work, 50% of the time when I go out with friends, and always when going out on a date, but never at home. As for boys, there are guys in the US who wear eyeliner, but not much other makeup as far as I know. I personally wouldn't date a guy who wears make up. I find that weird.
there's good make up and bad make up. most of the ones i see on the streets are bad makeup. and singpaore is so hot, the make up will melt so no point.
Duran Duran still big in Japan?
haha look what happend to the mole on her neck after make up. it looks like it was drawn on
When I was in Ikebukuro with my girlfriend, we did some makeup shopping. I believe she doesn't wear much makeup, if at all. I know she was getting something for a friend or for family.
makeup = damage to skin = damage to environment
i like girls who are not dependant on make-up that if they do have make up they look like old dried up witches and they know when and how to put on make up but still look good without makeup
She really makes up well- very nice in the 2nd photo!
sometimes i
