I found this on New York Times "Four of Japan's biggest comic book or 'manga' publishers are coming together to bring digital versions of their magazines to Nintendo's Wii console. The companies, Kadokawa, Kodansha, Shueisha and Shogakukan, have formed a joint venture with a local software house that aims to be the first to bring digital comics to the hit console. The venture, called Librica, was formed in July and will deliver comics through the Wii Ware software channel to users. An Internet connection will be required to use the service." News even report of possible communication with DS as well. Sounds like a pretty cool feature. Would you buy manga over WiiWare? Then view it on your DS on the road? I tell you, it seems like each passing day that technology doubles!
Viewing it on a wii console seems great, gives you a larger screen to view your manga. On a DS... eh... the small screen would kill it for me. IMHO, nothing beats having manga (printed on paper) in your own hands.
True, even though there are a lot of manga scanalations online, I still prefer the paper form.
Dunno, I have a tablet PC and I prefer reading manga on it. It just reminds me we need better e-book readers sometime this generation... but they just won't listen ;_;
I agree, tablet gives the "feel" of browsing pages and writing notes on them is desired.
IIRC, in Japan you cn already download manga for your phone. I wonder how popular that is... With the DS resolution, it isn't exactly the best choice either, I guess it could work using the stylus to drag across pages... still doesn't sound good ^^;; If true, I hope it turns out well.
I agree with the comment regarding manga in printed form. If you could export the manga elsewhere, say an SD card, then I am all game- but then again people might just post it. Sounds like a great idea though! Perhaps text can be modified so that they can replace languages easily so that they can sell to other countries. I can't read katakana!
Sounds like an interesting idea but I am not sure that it will work out.
If it's available for other countries than Japan and it's translated, then yeah, I buy some (Well, depending on the price) ^^
I dont particularly like reading manga on the internet PC, there is no way Ill read it in 480i across the room pointing a wii stick at it
