Those who know a bit about Japanese culture will know whats going on in this pic. I was shocked and then realized what the picture was all about (the text on screen does not help). Who can shed some light on this?
as revolting as that looks, i beleive their just making omochi, am i correct? i dunno why it looks like a seal though.
looking at it closely, is that computer edited?
Probably, but are you saying you have never had seal-on-a-stick? Its really popular at the fairs out here, plus they are tastier than Dolphins.. at least the baby cubs are.
Photoshop, luckily~
What on earth...? Are those REAL seals?? I honestly have no idea what they are doing...but I hope they're not going to eat them like they eat dolphins :X
No clue what so ever. Are those real?! Yikes!
You know, if they just clubbed them first, they wouldnt need so many guys to manuver them. I dont know what Omochi is, but it looks tasty.
Omochi is um.... stick rice balls. i think they just have a whole punch of rice, and they have this wood bowl and hammer, large ones, and they just pound the crap out of the rice until its smooth, IT TASTE GREAT. now i'm not in japan and i miss it =(
Isn´t as simple as it looks "Lift-white-seals-with-big-sticks-day"?Celebrated in northern japan, fist of October. No, seriously I have not a clue.
That is SO photoshopped. And not particularly well, either!
I agree.
ha... it sure is...
I reckon its a pic of some mega-mochi cookoff, with a seal's head pasted on to the mochi lump itself.
Yup - im pretty damn confident that it is the explaination. Do i win a prize if im right? :-P
i'm pretty sure ur right, the front "seal" has the steak right by its face, i think the face would be more distorted
Not to mention the fact that it has snow on its nose and is lit very brightly :-/
I think that is just mochi.
they have the omochi bowl under it also, and its steaming so it's 100% omochi goodness
Well yeah it would make a whole bunch of sense if that would only be Omochi because the sticks they have is perfect for making them XD
lol shopped http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/8499/98812057ed2.jpg
it's a sin to kill such cute animals. >_
seal on a stick....sounds tasty.....but seriously whats going on here?????
Lol, seal mochi. For a sec when I was looking at the small thumbnail on the home page I thought it was a group stabbing of some seal...with no blood surprisingly.
So its just rice you smash with a wooden hammer? Would really like to know what it tastes like
this pic makes no sense.
how stunningly evil. >:3
